Hi all! Just started playing Skyrim for the PS3 a few months back. My wife got it for me for my birthday and it is my first Bethesda and of course the first Elder Scrolls game I have ever played. I can easily say that sacrificing my social life has been worth if for this fun game.

Anywho! I had a quick question. I found this copy of a book called Old Ways before talking to the librarian at the College, Urag Gro-Shrub(sp?), and upon asking him if i can help with college business he asks me to find this book. Too bad I cannot equip the book so I can smack his face with it since he won't accept that I already found it when I was doing some Daedric quest a million years ago in game time. So no biggie, it's just one book, along with this journal by Gallus stuck in my inventory.

So the real question is, will it only be this book in the "Fetch me that book" series that will be stuck in my inventory or will other books that he would potentially give me if I were able to move forward with the quest become stuck too. The real reason is that I like to collect volumes of books that I love placing on the bookshelves in my tycoon empire of houses I have all over Skyrim and was wondering, if I pick up, i.e. Wolf Queen 6 somewhere will that become lodged in my inventory forever too?

Also forgive me if this is in the wrong section, I saw it asked by other members but it wasn't clear to me if all his potential books are marked as quest items or just one at a time. Tried looking at guide sites too and it wasn't clear there either. Thanks all!

He has others too, of the same sort.
One such book is in the bandit held tower east of whiterun along a road to a town which has the road to the Graybeards place.

Why these were not placed into the appropriate container when the quest begins using script, I have no idea.

The books for Urag are always located in the boss-level chest in a random dungeon. Solution: don't pick up books you find in chests. Any other books are fine: laying on bookshelves, tables etc. They'll only get marked as quest items if you already took the real quest book, but that's exactly what you need to avoid by paying attention to what you take from chests.

Thanks guys! I will make sure to be real careful about picking up books that I spot in chests. And yes, I see what you mean Michele, I too wonder why these aren't written in after initiating the quest like a bunch of other items in the game are.
