Is there a way to hide your helm or no? Thanks in advanced!

What do you mean by "hide your helm"? You could just not wear a helm.

I guess you want to get the armor bonus of the helm but you don't want the helm to be visible on your character. No, this is not possible.

If the above is the case, I'm aware that there are some mods around for the PC, but otherwise no.

It is sort of annoying that, if you want any armour-bonus on your head, but don't want to mess up your character's hair, or horns, or ears... your only option is to wear a dammed tiara... oh, pardon me, circlet. Surely the designers could have come up with something more manly: maybe a Bandana, or heck, a 'Hello Kitty' sweat band.

as far as i know circlets do not offer any armor.... they are just decoration/something to enchant

You could also do what I do in Morrowind at the moment. Only when I enter a dungeon or when I'm facing a tough enemy, I equip my helm.

The Diadem of the Savant has armor rating.
OP, I forgot this one. So, if you want an armored circlet, visit Shalidor's Maze.

Thanks A.C., I'd forgotten the name, should have checked my inventory before I posted.

However, it still leaves, as the only RP option, imagining your char. as so hard-as-nails, they can carry off wearing a tiara with jewels on... perhaps wear it down dungeons but take it off at the bar.

My characters never wear helmets.
I don't really care for the armor bonus, honestly.
It is handy, but viable without it too.

exactly.

plus on female characters with long hair, the helmet makes them appear bald.
