Helmet Toggle

Post » Sun Jan 06, 2013 9:17 pm

I spend all this time in character creation and Bethesda does not provide a helmet Toggle

This is one of the most ridiculous errors I have ever seen. A Helmet Toggle should be basic in a high character customization RPG

I want to see the face I created not hide it!

Kindly vote to point Bethesda's attention to this silly error

No. Don't want a helmet, don't wear one.

Also, wrong section.

I always bind some hotkey to the helmet, and put on/take off the helmet whenever I feel like it.
I definitely don't want an invisible helmet which you are proposing.

This is exactly my opinion too. Myself, I don't like helmets. So I simply don't put them on my characters.

Or wear one where you can see the face.

I have my helm on a hotkey. When I want it, it is right there. When I don't want it, it isn't. My current character tends to wear circlets; a helm might actually be a disadvantage.

The only time that I didn't mind an "invisible" helmet was in DA:O, and that was only during conversations.

If you don't want the helmet on your character don't use a helmet. I see you want the armor rating and maybe the skill matching set to work. well then use a helmet. Armor rating is so far down the list for me. I want to look good/like I should do RP wise. if I end up using leather armor instead of glass. Leather is much better if it fits the RP. MMORPG's often have this option for all armor types, this often results in naked warriors running around everywhere.

Invisible armor. Strangely enough it makes me think of those bikini armors that's on the nexus. Even in a world full of magic, I just can't see the logic behind that something that's not there can provide protection.

I never put any points into armor, so I don't have the worry of any set bonuses. I like to mix and match my apparel for waht looks good on my character.

Before I moved to PC, I would don my character in a full set to see what their AR came to. I then exploited the crafting to get the briastplate to equal the full set. This allowed my Sorceress to wear the Ebony Mail with boots, gloves and a circlet, yet still maintain the AR of the full set.

The same thing but a lot better look.

I still employ similar techniques with the PC.

Sure, why not. That, or they could actually make some helmets that aren't damn ugly, or crush flat an Argonian/Khajit's face because they were too lazy to make a separate model.
