Okay, in trying to fulfill a request, I found out something strange. If you alternate start by any means, you cannot buy a house anywhere.

I... really can't find why this is. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't even get the topic to buy a house to show up, no matter what I change in the conditionals for the topic, so the problem has to be elsewhere.

Could it be a trigger somewhere in the default start?

Or maybe the Quest House Purchase has something to do with it, maybe you can get it to trigger the quest urself.

I actually removed that check from the dialog option altogether, just to test, and it still wouldn't appear. The problem seems inexplicable, but I'm not used to this CS yet anyway. Definitely worth a shot.

And in case that's not entirely clear, the solution is to make sure the game has been told to call MQ00 stage 5. That stage controls the start of the house purchasing system.

You also need to be sure the civil war has been told to begin running:
