Hey.. I'm starting to get pissed off.
I'm trying to join the thieves guild, but that damn moron Brynjolf is just standing there at the market in Riften.

The only solutions I've seen so far is to use the console, but that's not too easy on the ps3. Impossible, actually.

What do I do?

First character, so no way I'm starting over just because of a bug when I've played so much.

That is, he's told me to go meet up with him in the place in the ratway, but he just stays at the market, whatever the [censored] I do..

This is [censored] hopeless.. Google didn't help me at all either.

I did his task with the ring, the dude got arrested, and he's still standing there "distracting" everybody. If I push him towards the sewer entrance, he simply walks back.

I NEED this fixed. This is just stupid.

No, wait. I did the entire thing. He got arrested. Now the elf is back, just sitting there. Out of jail. Now I've got no ring to steal, thus nothing to place in the elfs pocket. Can't anything be done?

You should've saved right before you do a quest then.
I usually do that and when I run into a glitch or bug or whatever I can reload it.

have you reloaded an earlier save?

Ideally I should've, but I've never done that quest before, so I couldn't know it was bugged. I did the quest a long time ago, during the main quest, to find another guy. Now it's been a million years, and he's still standing there

Edit: So no, haven't reloaded earlier save, because I did the main quest very very early, so loading something from back then would waste many many weeks of playtime. Might as well start a new char, but then I'll rather give up the thieves guild entirely, not ditching everything just for that

Damn, this happened to me too, glad I"m not alone. I restarted my character because of this.
