first is my paladin build, i would love to add smithing and enchanting in there but think that would thin him out too far?
Paladin
Heavy Armor
1 Handed
Block
Restoration
Speech
(potential additions-Smithing, Enchanting,alteration)

now for the build im having most trouble with.. there is so much i want to do with my stealth/hunter. i was hoping to use bound bow as a main attack but may have to get rid of conjuration too compress his skills a bit more.
but the way i want to play him regardless is, bow mainly for range using illusion spells to stay at range, then dual daggers for up close. alchemy for poisons, and sneak/lockpicking/pickpocket for playstyle reasons, he will be theives guild for sure. think i can squeeze in conjuration for bound bow use instead of a reg bow or would i be too thin? also thinking about dropping lightarmor, still use it but not invest perks there to make some room.

Sneak
Marksmanship
1 Handed
Illusion
Light Armor
Conjuration
Lockpicking
pickpocket
alchemy
speech

The Paladin can easily add smithing and/or Enchanting. It isn't as if using smithing will take away from your time with the sword. Using both sword, bow and destruction magic would be too much as you would have to divide the amount of enemies you face over these three weapons, leaving you good at none of them until much later in the game. Smithing and enchanting can be done on the side so not an issue.

As for the ranger, you dont really pick skills anymore so speech is something that developers naturally anyway. The same goes for all skills, just dont use too many different fighting styles. For the rest of the skills, just do whatever it takes to increase them. None of them really conflict: you can summon a creature to aid you in a fight and then switch to melee/ranged.

Mind if I jump in with a couple of questions instead of starting a new thread? ;>

I was wondering how Light Armor fares against Heavy when it comes to run-speed? In Oblivion there was this Huge difference and I ended up with light 3\4 times.
Also, Do you really need a heavy armor if you wanna be a master of Blocking?

Anyway, If someone could point to what I could improve on, that would be Great!

Block - Maxed
1 hand - Sword mastery
Smithing - max out Light \ Heavy
Heavy \ Light Armor (Not sure yet, Read above why) - Maxed out
Alchemy - 2 points
Restoration - 3 points for healing.

If my count is kiinda right, I will end up with with 43-47 perks used.

Thanks for any feedback,
Again I thought it would be better to stick to one thread, then to create several concerning the same.

I don't think you need to optimize your build in Skyrim to make it playable. So I would just pick whatever armortype looks the best on my character-concept. besides light-armor offers perks to improve armor rating and heavy armor has perks to improve speed.

I don't hope they are the same at the end, but those perks come a long way to make either playstyle acceptible. Naturally you'll need to play for a long time before you have enough perks to get those bonusses.
