HELP! How DO I install Skyrim to a Different Drive?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 4:24 am

OK....I already have a Steam Account and Steam Client software is on my C drive, which is over 80% full.

I bought the retail box version of Skyrim so I have the physical disk.

Question is: How do I install my Skyrim game to my E: drive which has tons of room.

When I recently installed, which also verified via my Steam account, it automatically installed to my C drive.
Thanks in advance for your help.

In Steam itself, change your install/game directory. Then install Skyrim.

I use junctions. (Manually with http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html.)

Others find http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover more user friendly.

Really, that would be great. Where do I find that menu.

Thx in advance

What they are referring to is to reinstall Steam to the location you want the games. The game will always install to the Steam directory sub folders.

My way, Steam can be on one drive while the games on another.
