Help me pick a race.

So i've had the game since yesterday and i've really only been trying things out, i made an argonian cause i thought they were looking awesome, but i didn't take into account that i wanted to play stealthy and be an ássassin' so to speak. I also like a challenge, and i see the Argonian can get the help from the Hitskin to heal me quickly, but i don't need that. I have potions for that. Breathing underwater sounds nice, but so far the water hasn't been really that interesting. And ok....the resistance to diseases is cool. But still....i need one that is really stealthy and a good assassin. Khajiit is an option but a friend told me he finds the night-eye very annoying. Exactly what does this mean? I've never played as Khajiit before.

So i'm planning on starting over, which really ain't a big deal. Which is the best race?

If you want a race that best maximizes your stealth capabilities, then you'll want Khajiit, or Wood Elf. They get the best stealth bonuses.

As far as Night-Eye goes, it changes your vision so that you can see better in the dark. In Oblivion, it made everything a bright blue so that you could see. Having not playing Skyrim yet, I don't know what the Night-Eye effect looks like, but in the past it has been somewhat annoying to me because it changes the visuals away from natural lighting colors to bright blues.

Khajit have traditionally had the best stealth class bonuses, and this includes the ability to see well in darkness.

However, the ability to see well also means it's typically not going to seem dark at night, for you -- though the way things look will change (you probably lose a lot of color discrimination).

Khajiit, if you're looking for a stealthy character, and Night Eye is a optional race spell, It's not on automatically at night. So go for a Khajiit !

And comeone they look BADASS.

Thanks, i'm trying out Skyrim with a Khajiit now, so far no night-eye, is this also used in dungeons or only outside during nighttime?

I'm playing a Khajiit as well. I've used night eye, but I'm not entirely sure how useful it is. I've only been playing for 6 hours, but so far between night and the caves I've been in, I really haven't seen any difference between using night eye and not using it.
