Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone can help me as many, many google searches have failed to bring up anything on this.

I'm currently on a companions quest where you go along with Aela the Huntress to a cave (with a troll) to retrieve a "Werewolf Totem", which she believes will unlock new powers. Upon picking up the totem she asks that you both return to the Underforge in Whiterun.
I returned to the Underforge with her and now she just stands there next to me. If I talk to her she says something along the lines of "Let's see what this totem can do", however I can't do anything with it and there's nothing to interact with in the underforge or anything. I can't equip the totem and it hasn't given me a new power to try out. I tried all sorts of things like turning into a Werewolf while I was there, going back to the save before the quest and trying again - but it's always the same. I'm stuck in a sort of limbo where Aela follows me around either saying "Let's go to the underforge" or, if we're at the underforge, "Let's see what the totem can do" and there's no way to progress further. Have also tried going to a much earlier save and doing everything again but to no avail.

Has anyone had the same problem or can anyone suggest a solution?

Did you put the totem on the pedestal it belongs on? If so you might want to look the quest up on the UESP wiki and manually advance it.

Thanks for helping! At no point do I recall seeing any sort of pedestal. The quest initially directed me to Clearspring Cave, underneath Clearspring Tarn. I went in there, killed a troll and got the Werewolf totem out of a chest. Then Aela said to me "That totem fits the description, let's return to the underforge". I can't seem to find anything specific on this quest regarding a pedestal on the Wiki site?
