Help! Terrain has disappeared from all exterior cells in ren

Heya guys,
I've been having a blast with the new creation kit, but just as I was putting the finishing touches on my custom home the ground terrain from all exterior cells disappeared, and I can't figure out how to get it back. Any static pieces that were placed on the ground beforehand are still in place, and once loaded into Skyrim the mod plays fine, but any new pieces placed in the Creation Kit render window now just fall right through as if the ground didnt exist. I've tried reinstalling Skyrim and the Creation Kit but to no avail. I haven't read of anyone else having this problem, so I'm guessing I mucked around with the settings somehow, but I've been through every menu option at least 3 times. I've been using Bethesda editing tools since Morrrowind so I don't consider myself a total noob (i think??), any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What pieces are falling through? What do you mean by that exactly?

Given that you've been using it since Morrowind I assume you've already tried refreshing the viewport?

Say for example I wanted to give myself a Daedric Battleaxe using the Creation Kit. In an interior cell, such as the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, its no problem. I find the item in the Cell View window and drag it into the Render window, push F to drop it to the ground, save and load it to Skyrim. But my Creation Kit doesn't "see" the ground for any exterior cell of Tamriel, so if I step outside the inn and try the same thing the axe just disappears, since theres no ground for it to drop to. I can place a bunch of static pieces, like boulders or whatever and make them float, but if i push F they just disappear into the abyss. Like I said this only happens in the Creation Kit, I thankfully still have the ground beneath me in the actual game.
And yep, I've tried to refresh the cell, and all outside cells. It's as if i clicked an option to disable the terrain and i'm too stupid to figure out how i did it lol.

World -> Worldspaces

Towards the bottom there are 6 checkboxes, is No Landscape checked on the worldspace you're in? Only thing I've seen so far.

Have you tried View -> Show/Hide Window, and then check the Terrain box?

Ya I tried that, you would think that it would do the trick but when i click on the box for Terrain it doesn't do anything. When I reopen the Show/Hide Window the Terrain box remains unchecked where i checked it, and even when the other options can be switched.

that's weird... I had the same issue last night but checking that box fixed it. You may need to redownload the CK.

Awesome thanks to the help I was able to get it working again. I did another reinstall, for some reason it wouldnt let me load terrain unless i chose the option while i had an interior cell loaded in the Render Window...anyways thanks for all the help guys, this mod is going to rock :D
