Help! The game keeps turning me into a vampire!

Post » Thu Aug 30, 2012 9:54 pm

I don't know what's going on. I keep turning into a vampire. I don't have any uninflected saves and I can't seem to start the quest to cure it.

It did it to me once before, but I had an earlier save. By the time I get any notification I'm starting the effects. Anyone else experience similar since completing Dawnguard?

I am looking for help here. It's my main character, Level 49...

Um what do you mean by the game keeps turning you into a vampire? Have you tried talking to Falion in Morthal?

What do you mean? As in you keep becoming a vampire lord? Or just a regular vampire? Did you go into a vampire den and fight vampires?

If you are a werewolf then it doesn't make sense and I can't help you. If you're mortal you catch Sanguinare Vampiris by fighting vampires and if you don't have a disease immunity enchantment on an article of jewelry. Check your stats often when you fight vampires, you get will get a 'warning' of catching S. Vampiris like you would if you had whitbane or Bone Break Fever. If you get s. Vampiris just go to a temple or drink a 'cure disease' potion.

Can't help you with Falion. Try getting a fill black soul gem beforehand then go talk to him about it, see what happens from there.

I'll be dungeon diving then I'll go outside and it tells me "Your blodd boils in the sunlight...". I haven't been infected that I am aware of. It did it to me once before, but I was able to go back to an earlier save. I don't have that option this time.

This is since completing the DG quest line. I can't seem to get the Innkeepers to direct me to Falion.

To be clear, I have not been in contact with any Vampires since completing DG...except Serana..

The game seems to be infecting me all on it's own. This is the second time. I can't seem to get the Falion info from the Innkeepers. Freaking out a little right now, as I said it's my main character since 11-11-11.

Treat this as a role-playing opportunity.

Seriously, are you on PC, because there may be a console command to cure it? Also, like VideoGameMage said; go speak to Falion directly.

I've heard that if Serana hits you with her vampiric drain you have a chance to get the Vampiris disease. I'd suggest you find an amulet of resist disease or something and buy it. That or become a Lord or Wolf and just not use their power.

I think Serana is your problem my friend...

This. Serana has a bad habit of giving people vampirism unintentionally.

But you shouldn't have to go to an earlier save. Even when it says your blood boils you can take a cure disease poison. Or at least that's what I do and then it doesn't show in my active effects anymore.

Reload an earlier save. If that does not work then try a new save and test a new game and see if its still effected.

I've gone straight to Falion. I'm not getting the right dialogue box for him to cure me. None of the Innkeepers are giving me the correct dialogue box. I tried to feed as it told me I am blood-starved, but no feeding option.

Even though it tells me my blood boils, etc. when I'm out it daylight, I don't seem to get any ill effects to health. No physical appearance changes.

Is this some weird glitch?

What your describing is an odd bug the first time I've heard of it to be sure.

Try another save game or load an earlier save.

Crap! I'm gonna dump Serana, but I don't want to. I don't understand this at all. NONE of the innkeepers are giving me the option to go see Falion.

It told me that as a blood starved vampire people would no like me...or something, but everybody ( so far) treats me just fine. I don't get it.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE A VAMPIRE! I went that route once in Oblivion...

If you have Dawnguard installed and you randomly get a message that your blood boils as the sun rises and you haven't had the disease for becoming a vampire prior to that point (Sanguine Vampiris -25 health) then you have the glitch that I had. The only fix is to have Serana turn you into a VL so you can go to Morthal and have Falion cure you. What causes this glitch? I don't know, some have suggested Serana does, however I find that to be untrue, because it never occured to me when she was with me, I was alone when I got the glitch. Becoming a VL and getting it cured will get rid of it, but be warned, it MAY come back again. I had my reoccur 3-4 times before I just started over.

And, I say again...I do not have an earlier (uninflected) save.

Dumping Serana will hardly help, it seems your game is glitched. You said it doesn't affect your stats and I guess if it doesn't change your avatar than you can... ignore it (?)
