Help think of a backstory for my Orc warrior?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:22 pm

Started a new character which is a 2H Orc warrior and I usually think if a backstory for my characters which explains why they're in skyrim and their purpose. Sort of role playing I guess. But I'm out of ideas, help?

Orcs are often part of the Legion
Many Orc bloodlines are from Skyrim
Orcs seek challenges worthy of their skill

Just some points of inspiration

Nobody really knows. It was said that the orc fell from the sky by a dragon carrying him.

Perhaps he's been cast out of his home in Orsinium - a skooma-fueled murder, perhaps? - and is seeking a new life. He ended up in Skyrim upon hearing about Strongholds of Orcs, where he could possibly find a new beginning.

Well for me, I wasn't accepted in the strongholds as I didn't follow their traditions, and preferred magic to brute strength :)

S/he could be an exile from an Orc stronghold, maybe for denoucing Malacath or for sleeping with another chiefs son/daughter.

My Orc Rose Macath, woke up on a blood soaked battlefield among a mass of bodies. Of her few memories she remembers her name and her parents. Everything else is shrouded in darkness. Her commanding officer in the legion found her wandering aimlessly but to his dismay, she could not remember him. She did not believe him when he told them that were to married after the war. He escorted her to the legion medics but was sadden more when they told him, that only time will if she will recover. She left the legion to recover her memeroies, touring Skyrim's Orc strongholds and their shamans, even going so far spending a month praying to Malacath.

You are aware of the orc strongholds all over tamriel? Well how about this...you were born in the mountains of hammerfell amongst an isolated tribe of orcs who call themselves "the bloodfang tribe". You were born as the chieftains sons amongst a children of 5 ( 3 brothers and 2 sisters) and ever since you were born you were trained in the ways of the orcish horde. They taught you the basics of hand to hand, shield fighting, and most of all two-handed axes. You have proven to be the most capable warrior in your tribe. You defeated the chieftain's champion "Balonog gro-malok" at the age of 18. You were hailed amongst one of the greatest warriors of your tribe. The chieftains champion, hailed in disgrace, was banished from the tribe proving that he is unworthy to bear his title of champion and therefore his honor. Begging your father to reconsider such a rash action as you had much respect for his champion he roughly waves you off and tells you "A chieftain should never show such weakness. Never disregard what your chief and most of all your father says...EVER!!".

One of your brothers named Agronog approached you not offering any further peace of mind. "You may show strenght in combat but do you have the will to do whats necessary brother". Ever since you were youths you were at odds with eachother. He was a lowly swine, willing to cheat past any challenge that dared approach his path. Even so, the rewards came toward you as you were hailed "Champion" of your tribe. Many lowly orcs came forward to you with offerings of gold and gems. Many orc women kneeled before you begging you to choose one of them to bear your children. Of course, there was one orc who was simply named Sasha whom you enjoyed playing with since you were a boy even though your father saw it as a weakness. When she came forward you told her how she was the most beautiful thing you ever layed your eyes upon. And so your new life began as champion as in the coming years you lead many orcs against the Aldmeri Dominion from capturing Orsinium and begat children of your own.

After the great war, you returned home aged around 30 or so. When you approached your father, he was but an old, weak orc who sat upon the throne that should indeed not be his. One night after your return, your father took you into his private tent and told you that his time has come. He is going to choose you to be the leader of the bloodfangs amongst your brothers. Your brother Berak has not ever proven himself worthy to even wield an axe much less his honor. And father knows very well Agronog is a cowardly and deceitful orc. Your father has received the vision from Malacath to wait along the roads for a glorious death of some kind. Of what he does not yet know but as he gets ready to make his leave he will announce you chieftain of your tribe. Begging your father not to do this as you simply wish to live in peace and harmony with Sasha, he rejects you utterly. So by right and honor you had no choice but to accept his decision especially since you know your brothers would lead the tribe to ruin. And now begans your reign as chieftain of the bloodfang tribe and became known by many orcs throughout orsinium. Or so you thought...

Agronog was raging at the fact that father chose you as chieftain. Knowing that he is a capable warrior he should be the one leading the tribe and not you. So he conducts a plan with a small group of orcs who believe he should be chieftain instead of you. The next day orc warriors approach your chamber and drags you outside. You see your father laying on the ground dead with a dagger in his back. You immediately recognize the dagger as your own and the tribe accuses you of blood murder. "You bastard! How could you!" screamed Agronog. You scream "You cheap bastard!! I'll have your head for this you hear me?!!". Agronog then becomes chieftain, laughs and orders your execution on the spot. While in jail, the orc shaman approaches your cell telling you that you have a destiny far greater than leading the tribe. He tells you to make your way to the southern reaches of Skyrim. Asking why he does not give an answer as was his way. He immediately unlocks the door and sneaking out of the tribe you make your way for a private carriage further down the road therefore beginning your role as dragonborn.

How does that sound? Good yes?

4E 170 You were part of an Stronghold in orsinium, you wanted to be a criminal, have some good in life, so you killed everyone in the tribe, and left. You fled to Cyrodill to join the arena in the imperial city. You wanted to become like your great great grandfather, Agronak Gro-Malog, who was once the grand Champion of the arena. As you enter the arena for the first time, the current Grand champion is assassinated by a dark brotherhood assassin, Leaving you great opportunity. You are a natural, but are wounded near wounded. your only known brother in cyrodill joined the Arena. It is you and him against the yellow teams champion. He dies, making you angry. You unthinkingly summon the thu'um, and kill many people in the arena. You run for your life. Having contacts in Bruma, they clear your name from history. You leave the imperial city, and become a citizen of Anvil. You pray at the chapel of Debella Every Day.
4E 171 War breaks out, and you join the Legion.
4E 175 You leave the legion
4E 192 You are Wanted for murder. You go to Bruma to clear your name again.
4E 201 You Evacuate Cyrodil for a better life.

He's a been traveling with caravans as a bodyguard, to see the world. They were travelling in Hammerfell.
Then one day he was sent to scout the area, and some experimenting wizards blew up a dwemer artifact and he got accidentally teleported across the border.
He then got caught in Skyrim wthout the proper papers, and got caught up a stormcloak attack, and though the guards believed him, because he fought with them, they all died, and the second wave who found him unconcious were jobsworths and took him off to be executed.

I find the stupid prisoner thing to be the hardest thing to roleplay. It's a pain in the ass.
My characters are not criminals, ever!
If they did something illigal they would never get caught!

Why the hell could'nt they make a intro that was completely RP able , blank and had nothing to do with crime or executions!
Like Fallout New Vegas or Kingdoms of Amalur:Reckoning.

Well, if your out of ideas how about this: he has no past, and if he does its shady. No one no's about him, other than the fact he served the Imperial leigon, and was to executed for desertion, killing a higher ranking officer, and theft of Imperial goods. Work with it.

I'm making mine an orphan that was raised by a nice woman that was unable to have children of her own. She lived as a hand at a lumbermill just outside of Skyrim. He was told of the Orc strongholds in Skyrim so after his mothers passing he decided to travel to them to find. On his travels he finds the true meaning of life as an Orc.

Uses 2H battleaxes and fire elements. He learned his fire abilities from his mother.
