Help with carrying weight

Post » Tue Feb 26, 2013 4:41 am

I need some advice for carrying weight. My capacity limit is 315 and my average current load is always around mid to high 200's.
That doesnt leave me much room for picking up loot when traveling or on quests. Is my current load unusually high? Is everyone about the same?
I do have the necklace to increase limit 25 lbs but i dont like to wear it in place of one of my other more useful enchanted necklaces.
I dont have a follower so the option to burden them is not there right now.
I am carrying 4 staffs and two one handed swords for different uses. An ebony sword which i just found and intent to enchant and I also carry Dawnbreaker.
I have lots and lots of potions that i probably dont need or find much use of... I mostly use the restore healing and magica potions.

That's a lot of weapons. Why do you need four staves and four swords?

Also, if you wear heavy armor, you need to rush the perk that makes it weightless when worn. Or you could go to the Steed stone, same effect.

Ditch all the potions you don't use. Each potion is 0.5lb. It adds up.

If you're on PC there are plenty of backpack mods to increase your capacity.

I am carrying 4 staffs

I tend to carry two staves - fire and shock. I sometimes add a third if I'm feeling a bit 'Sanguine' :P

I have lots and lots of potions that i probably dont need or find much use of... I.

Depending on your character level, low yield potions are practically useless. You're usually better off with a smaller number of more powerful potions.

Learn some macic and dump a few of the staves and maybe lose a couple of the sword. If you only use magic and health potions, sell the rest and maybe invest some perks in restoration. Nothing worse than having to leave goodies behind during a quest because you're too heavy.

Let me clarify... I am carrying 4 staves and 2 swords (an ebony sword and Dawnbreaker).
I agree about the staves.. i just feel if i drop or sell one i may need it later.. (wabberjack, chain lightning, paralyzation and another lightning bolt).
I am level 24 and wear light elvin armor. I dont have all light armor yet but i do hope to get to the skill of having all ight armor and weigh nothing. Not there yet though.
I am on PS3.

Thanks for the help... I think I will sell the lightning staves.. and leave the wabberjack at home. The paralyze one is too useful when in a bind not to carry.
I am also going to sell a bunch of potions that i just dont use. I must have more than 40.
