Make up fears and moral rules for your character. Since your basing it off yourself this should be easy, simply ask yourself what would you do in that situation. As for fears, I find it interesting if you make up a rule that you are scared of a specific creature, for example spiders. So whenever you come across spiders you run away in fear. Also come up with rules for yourself like, you only ever draw your weapon outside unless you have to to defend yourself. Never draw weapons in towns etc. Things like this help.
I also find it helps to make up a backstory, which defines your character's personality. If they are really good, would they join the Companions because they are werewolves? Or would you accept that for the power? Things like that help to make roleplaying so much more fun.
