Help With "Effects Shader"

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:31 pm

Hey everyone,

Im trying to make a new spell based off of normal flames, but i want the color to be differ (black.) I went under "Effects Shader" because that is where "FireFXShader" is located, and that is what "flames" and other fire spells use as their artwork (i made a copy, as i want the effect to apply to only one spell). I look at the gradients, which allow the fireball in-game to have different colors in different areas of the shape. I took out the two gradient (im not sure why there are two, so i just tried to replace them both) and the "Effects\FXFireAtlas02.dds" since they are orange, and i want them to be black. However, i cannot open my own gradients that i made in Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 because i cant save as a dds file. Does anyone know of another way to change the color, or of a program that just lets me save as dds? thanks.

Here you can find dds plugin for photoshop. I just don't know if it works with Elements.

Get GIMP and use the DDS plugin. Much better than elements.
