Help with Necromancer Build?

Post » Sun Feb 24, 2013 5:11 am

So, I want to create a Necromancer to play Dawnguard with her. It's supposed to come out next Tuesday for the PS3 and I'm excited to try this build. So, any Necro players here in the forums? I would like some tips as what are the best schools to delve into, as log with the Standing Stones.

So, I'm thinking in 2 different paths.

1- Conjuration, Illusion, Restoration, Destruction and Enchanting. This would be for me playing solo, without followers, that's why I would use destruction, for Ice magic only.

2- Conjuration, Illusion, Restoration and Enchanting. This would be for playing with a follower, most likely someone with 2handed and Heavy Armour, to take a good bit of damage and kill my enemies fast, so I can raise them.

As far as stones go, I would stick to the Mage up to the point I have Dead Thrall (not spamming or power levelling conjuration) and after that go to the Ritual, I guess.

What do you guys think? Which path do you guys think is the best one? Or do you suggest any other paths that would be better? Any tips at all?

BTW, I would play as a Breton, simply because they are my go to mages.

Thanks in advance! =P

EDIT: I could also try a third path, which would be also using a conjured Daedric Sword instead of Destruction... Not sure if it would effective though.

I did Conjuration as my big one (and it's a requirement in fact), followed by an even distribution of alteration (defense), restoration (wards, undead healing, turn undead, and necromage perk), and destruction (i'd say go with 1 of any element). Enchanting would be one too, and maaaaaaybe alchemy.

Generally, I'd like the pet do most of the work, heal it, and support it with destro magic. If there are other undead around, turn undead would be very in-character for necromancers.

First let me say ive played the necro and it is very fun. Im guessing youre not going to conjure just raise. For skills conjuration, alteration ( mage armor and for wearing robes), destruction (once you hit dead thrall or whatever the perm. raised spell is), restoration. Also I would not go for the bound weapons they svck later on. And for non combat I would go with alchemy, enchanting. I have to go to work now pm me if you want some more advice gl bro (:

Your second suggestion reminded me of this build:
