dunno, it worked for me on my first play through.
can you go back to an early save and try get the quest again? I've noticed that sometimes quests don't trigger properly.

awwww.
well I turned autosaves off too, but I still make 2-3 of them and overwrite the oldest, and I usually save everytime a walk trhu a door/entrance (pretty much what auto save do), just in case. this helped me keep the quest log clean, everytime a quest doesn't trigger or doesn't disappear when completed I reload and try again, always worked.

If you dont have a Map quest marker or remember where the location of the Gauntlets are you can still become Blood Kin by completing a set number of misc quests for Orc's within the game.
Eventualy one of your greatfull quest givers will tell you that as a reward you have earned the honour to become Blood Kin to the Orc's and that they will send word to the Strongholds on your status.

I know it is possible to become blood-kin without doing the forgemasters fingers quest.
Im not 100% as to what triggers this, but I know that at least on one playthrough I did a radiant quest for a city orc, then asked him if he could make me blood-kin and he said he would send word to the strongholds that I was to be trusted.
There are several city orcs that offer quests, I dont know if they can all make you blood-kin, but its worth a try.
Good luck :)

You can also become Blood-kin by doing Malacath's Daaedric Quest in Largashbur. It won't actually tell you that you're Blood-kin, but you'll still have full access to all of the Strongholds.

One thing that gave me a lot of grief is how the Misc quests work with the journal and the map. You have to have BOTH the item in the miscellaneous quest list checked AND the "miscellaneous" parent quest checked before it shows it on the map.

Also, if you just pull up your quest list, highlight the quest in question, THEN hit the map hotkey it will center the map on your destination.

Hope that helps!
