Here is What You Need To...

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:33 am

...Thank you Vex, for giving me a quest that magically updates in my journal. You don't even tell me what you need me to do. Sometimes I miss NPC explanation dialogue. Instead of saying, "You need to go into Clan-Shield's house and take these three items..." a quest just magically pops up in my journal. Not only that, but the journal is so vague, go steal these items...not even what items need to be stealing because no that's given to you with quest poppies.

I like quest markers, but I think this is how they should be implemented:

-The quest marker shows on your compass

-And it shows near the door, or cave or whatever that you need to go

-The moment you load into the designated area, however, the quest marker only remains on your compass, but appears nowhere in game...not on the guy you're suppose to kill, not on the item you're suppose to steal, or whatever chest you need to get an item out of. The compass guides you in the right area, but you have to do everything else on your own.

Kind of like the Witcher 2. The compass directs me where I need to go, takes me to the designated area, but the rest is left to me. Which ends up me being lost in a cave and running around in circles dying.

Quest markers are fine, if done right. If done wrong they become hand holding.

That's what I hated about the Witcher 2.. I hate aimlessly running around trying to find an unmarked quest. Just give me a marker to the actual quest.

I say place it at the nearest fast travel place.

But there have been times where I felt like I looked all over for what I needed then went to turn the quest on and the marker pointed me to some room or passage I never knew existed.

I will make it short this time..

As for console players , I have to say only one thing:

DON'T BUY ES GAME FOR CONSOLE !!
Gods.. YOU ALL KNOW THERE WILL BE MODS , BUT STILL GO AND BUY IT FOR CONSOLES !

Sorry guys , I know I am wrong in some of these points , but it gets me mad when I see the answer :"I'm on a console , no mods"

It does really irritate me when people are like well if it is modded then it should be available for console. And I am on PS3.
But if i did have a bad ass gaming PC I would still buy almost all my games for the PS but this would definitely be the exception.

Console. No mods.

And I buy it for console because my computer is to ancient to handle ES. Also my computer is used for mostly schooling. Waste all my memory on a video game, yeah not even if it's ES.

I just prefer gaming on console. I began playing ES on console, and when you do that it's hard to motivate yourself to change. I don't know if I'd use mods anyway, I know it can affect the stability of games.

I'm on a console, no mods for me. Sorry if it bothers you how I enjoy a piece of digital software, it really shouldn't. If anything you should be happy that a large group of people are able to experience the Elder Scrolls stories, and you should also be proud that you have more longevity with your platform of choice (pc+mods) There really is NO reason to insult people over how they wish to play a video game. Doing so is childish, pathetic and un-wanted...

Thank you. Now we can go back to the topic at hand, :)
