Hero status

I have a crazy idea, but it might just be crazy enough to work.

What if you got a character maxed out and then your next character was 5% stronger?

First, your character would have to be completely maxed out, I mean all skills 100%. This should literally take about 500 hours.

Second, you then could start a fresh character, but that character could not be made until you finished your first character.

Thirdly, you can only do this process 4 times. So, your best final product (5th character and beyond) would be 20% stronger. (Hero status)

Question: What do I mean about 20% stronger?

Answer: You normally get 10 points to put in your stats when you hit a level. Now you would get 12. That's all.

Now keep in mind, this process should take 1000's of hours. Only the most dedicated players could possibly get this done.

What do you guys think?

It was debated here before and I think Zenimax answer was to say no to alt-making. This is foremost, one character game.

Dont get me wrong though. I see huge potential in tripple a MMORPG what focuses on alt-making.. you could liternally make tons tons tons of content.

Sure you can make one but this game is one-char-game.. theres thing called Faction Pride and its probably the reason why they did what htey did.

First what do you mean it is a one character game?

Second, what did they do?

They opened alliance zones, so almost everthing is seeable with one char... another option was to copy SWTOR and their legacy system but I suppose they didnt warm to it.

Just because they opened the other faction zones up so you can see them all on one character doesn't prevent you from making alts. This isn't a one character game at all. There are 4 classes with unique skill lines and 9 races with their own unique skill lines. There will be a lot of people who will want to make alts, because they are interested in using the skills found in specific class skill lines for a particular build they are doing. Sure, a Dragon Knight can be a mage, but what if someone wanted to be a mage that controlled Daedra. Then they want to make a Sorcerer to be able to do that.

Fine, I think their direction is obviously one-char but thats just me. It was debated alot last year and thats why we got alliance zones is my guess.

Sure they made it so you can see all the alliances on one character because people said they wished they could, but that doesn't mean they made the game in mind of people only playing one character. If they did that, then when even have these classes with specific skill lines that no one else can use? If you just wanted everyone to only play one character then they should have just taken away the class system and let you get every skill in the game with one character no matter what.

Like Guild wars 2, you can in fact visit any race's home location, but that did not affect people making new characters. Actually, I think it's almost JUST like Guild wars 2, in that the character specific to that location has access to quests, personal stories, and other stuff that you couldn't do as a foreigner. Probably even moreso if what I hear about these racial skills are true.

What does SWTORs legacy system mean to anything I'm talking about? If you want to think that this game is made for one character go ahead, but I disagree with your thoughts because if that was true then why would they make specific class lines. Also who cares if people want to have multiple players does it really matter if someone wants to have ten alts? No, not at all.

As for the topic.

No, I think it is a terrible idea. It simply favors those with the most time on their hands and leaves those of us who have to work a lot at a disadvantage. I pay just the same as anyone else.

The best test of your ability should be your own skill. Something like this would throw the whole scale of balance off at once. A guild would form of only 'hero' status players and they would zerg all over Cyrodiil. Dominating PVP if they were any good. After hundreds or thousands of hours they would kind of have to be. This would ruin the game for those less skilled and with less time on their hands. I don't want to spend thousands of hours to be competive in PVP. 20% is a pretty huge deal. Hell even 5% can make the difference sometimes.

Ummm..... isn't that the way the game works now?

How? All sides would have the same option.

That is the way the game is set up right now.

How many hours do you think you will need to put into your character to be as good as the hard core players as the game is now?
