Some people say that happened with Killzone 3 for example
It is, and I'm really disappointed with it. Probably the biggest reason I love C2 so much is that it refuses to be CoD-ified. And I'm sorry, but it's just a fact that a large part of the shooter crowd wants every game to be exactly like CoD. Anyone who followed the complaining and subsequent patches to the controls on the Killzone forums back when KZ2 came out knows this. Obviously if a franchise is as hugely successful as CoD, it's going to have an impact, but yeah... it's pretty much ruined the FPS genre at this point and with the success of CODBLOPS despite the fact that everyone knows it's a glitchy mess, it looks like we're still a few years away from recovery...
Yeah, that's what i like about Crysis 2. It's not meant to be like CoD and in my opinion it's much more tactical as you always have to keep a close eye on your energy meter and stuff.
Overall it feels great, it just needs some fixes to be an outstanding online experience. I have more than 20 days put into CoD, and i could easily do that with this game, it's really addictive but not frustrating at all (except for the lag and bugs).
Bottomline, Crytek just fix this and we'll be happy.
