Hide and Seek was different in my day...

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:27 pm

I mean, anybody who was it had to find whoever was hiding...it wasn't like "certain people have to start a conversation and say 'I found you!' while the others (whenever they are 'it') only have to be within a 50 ft radius of anyone who's hiding to win..."

Am I the only one who gets annoyed by that?

Aww, it's not so bad. You have to humour the kids by informing them they are caught and also by being easy to find. I think the games are sort of cute.

I like playing tag with the kids in Solitude. I just climb up on a high rock, and watch then try to get to me. Then I jump over their heads. :D

Tag is glitched for my two little critters. They both count at the same time. And when I play, they cheat and tag me straight away or say i found you without counting or letting me hide. Little Rascals.

Always enjoyed the little things like this. Tag and It being some of the better ones. I have considered it a bit weird how you can walk into Whiterun for the first time, a complete stranger, kitted up in all kinds of strange and dangerous looking armour, carrying deadly weapons, yet the kids want to play tag with you. Parents just don't seem to care in Skyrim. I know if one of my adopted kids wanted to go out playing tag with an emperor-murdering, dragon-shouting, overworked Dragonborn, i'd be a bit concerned ;)

I tell them its perfectly fine to cheat, as long as you don't get caught and are prepared for a fight ifyou do =)

I almost always go for tag. I tried hide-and-seek ONCE, and immediately thought, "Okay, I'm totally paranoid about losing the kids to a random glitch and freak out whenever I haven't seen them in the last five seconds. I just *deliberately* asked them to vanish. Aaaaahhh!" Paranoia, thy name is Parent.

I didn't use Aura Whisper during the entire game, though. I was very proud of myself.

My Dovahkin found an unconventional way to play tag. Sophie and Lucia seem to enjoy taking turns trying to extort him for expensive gifts every time he sets foot in HH. Sophie is passive aggressive whenever she asks for presents. But I've discovered Lucia is far more materialistic and flat out demanding. One time I sent him to Whiterun on a side quest. I forgot to make him buy the customary presents for the girls on his trip there. So it was only natural that he tried to avoid Lucia from ambushing him in the front lobby when he entered the dining room.

I had him run up stairs, around the 2nd floor, and back down the other stairs. Just so he could avoid her. But she followed him---and then actually began pursuing him around the whole house for the next 10 mins or so real time!

I swear she'd have done this indefinitely if he hadn't run out of steam. All thanks to a score of stamina potions he was chugging as he ran around the whole house

Then when the poor bugger finally ran out of steam, she coolly walked up to him, gave him what I swear was a positively exasperated look, and then was like "Ok Papa, can I get my weekly allowance now??" So it was only logical that my giant toe eating, DB & TG Dovahakin ended up sheepishly handing over some 1,000 septims she was extorting him for. But I guess she sort of deserved it for the crazy cardiovascular work out that she just put him through

Daaamn. That kid really needs to be on a cross country varsity track team. There's just got to be one in Skyrim somewhere......

Yeah, really, Alaric. That sounds fun.

I suppose it's also one reason why none of my characters intend to adopt both Sofie and Lucia (or any two-daughter combination)... one little princess is about all any of them can handle.
