High Elf won Skyrim?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 7:02 pm

First of, racial bonuses shouldnt have 24H cooldown!, this svcks so badly and the only thing it does is making people forget it. or not just bother to use them.
And since almost nobody use those, then there is almost no diff between the races.
Starting skills dont matter to much cuse they are easy to lvl up in there lower levels.

so the winner is high elf !! that starts with 50 more MANA! than the other races.

SO. racial abilitys should be either passive or toogle, ''for example, high elf could have an passive mana rate at 10-15% higher, Orc could have 20% more life and nords 20% bigger D'CKs!!

sorry for bad grammar . thank you and good night!

You know, that Magicka bonus is pretty sweet..... Unless you don't use magicka.

Umm, racial powers have always been that way. People would just rage harder if they changed yet another thing from previous games. Also, your ideas kinda svck.

I always forget to use mine.

It probably has something to do with not having any real hotkeys.

I literally "favorite" ALL of my spells so I can access them more quickly, kinda defeats the purpose of using it.

Frost resistance is probably the best passive.

High Elf wins as Mage
Khajiit wins as Melee Rogue
Wood Elf / Khajiit tie for Archer Rogue
Orc wins for Warrior. (Even though people debate Nord, which I believe comes in second behind Orc anyway)

I guess if 50 magicka means that much to you.

Eh, you know if you open up your favorites list you can press 1-8 on anything you have in there to assign it to that number.

The once a day powers aren't the sort of thing you're supposed to use every time you go into a dungeon...they're meant for epic battles, dragons, giants, that sort of thing. My redguard's adrenaline rush has made a number of fights that had been impossible, possible.

Just dont expect to use them as often as you use a healing spell, they dont work that way. Honestly, they're far more balanced in Skyrim than in Oblivion. In Oblivion, you got nice stuff like the ability to summon a level 4 ghost...or to control a level 5 animal...

...

Just be glad they're better, now.

Not true at all. All other races compete in ways that can't be offset by five levels of stat-distribution.

Most of the races have powerful resistances.

Imperials get more wealth than any other race (Coins tend to multiply when they open containers)

Khajiit claws have higher base damage than any one-handed weapon in the game.

Warriors are the most powerful in this game (annoyingly, being a mage), read into that what you will as regards the strongest characters

I have to say though, I think the Breton's 25% magicka is by far the best starting stat. 50 points of magicka is good, but not amazing

Dunmer is what I went for just because I like them the most since morrowind. Their 50% fire resist is pretty awesome considering this is a quest in which you randomly encounter dragons. The once-a-day powers have always been last-resort things. Considering the length of dungeons and traveling time I only really do one or two in a game day anyway and so having a fall back when you come up against a tough fight is great. Same as scrolls, they are one off expensive items but can make the difference between getting through a boss fight or having to turn back.

High elf have a weakness to magic to offset that bonus you mention. They get to use more magic but is it worth it when on the receiving end of already powerful magic attacks?

High elves have always been mega. I found the racials to be useful in OH [censored] moments (dragons, bosses, giants). Unfortunately my racial never did compensate for the liches incredible backpedal of doom, I was condemned to watch him backpedal into the sunset hurling lighting bolts at me.

50 magicka wins in your eyes.

Personally Nord is the best for me, I like melee. and I like to power attack which costs stamina.

battle cry is useful on occasion.

but whats really usefull is the HUGE resistance to frost, 50%. May I remind you frost spells drain stamina.

so no highelf doesn't win, nord doesn't win either. It's whatever fits your playstyle best that wins.

25% resistance to all magic imo, Bretons ftw.

Also their "on use" is OP when facing "impossible" magic battles... 50% magic damage taken for 60 seconds and all that damage converts to mana? Pure awesomeness...

Some of the races do get the short straw though... Wood Elves come to mind, poison and disease resist are "meh" since 100% can be acquired by any race who becomes a vampire or werewolf, and the ability to charm an animal once a day is fairly lack-luster compared to most other "on use" abilities.

Greater Powers svck? Funny. Histskin pulled me out of some very tight spots during my playthrough. You save the Greater Powers for when you are in dire need of a reprieve. Histskin lets you recover health like a beast in combat, the Nord's Battle Cry gives you a reprieve to heal yourself or let your Dragon Shout cooldown expire... the racial skills are better than they used to be for the most part.

Frost resistance is probably the best passive.
I disagree, was kinda useless to me as a vampire. Fire resistance is probably better, it cancels out the vampire weakness to fire, AND you can have 100 % frost resistance

though I do play a nord werewolf now, i cured myself of vampirism so its whatever :P

as to the reply above me, I agree. Nord battlecry is great if I want to become a werewolf mid combat and not die for example

I'd say that Bretons and Altmers have the best, followed by Nord and Dunmer.

Disease resistance is very useful. Redguard adrenaline rush is also very useful for the occasional boss fight at the end of a dungeon.

Dunmer. Fire resistance. Half of every Dragon is made entirely invalid.
