Very nice. I like the striking colors and the vivid patterns in each. They have a good "flow" - particularly the frog.

Did not see the black silhouette of the man at first in the war/peace painting, blended a bit too much into the camouflage ( I might have picked another shade of green instead of the almost-black one.) But otherwise a very evocative piece.

Also, bigger pics next time.

I really like the frog one, slightly reminiscent of Australian Aboriginal art.

Similar with me, end of topic science test. I sit there trying to concentrate by myself and get shouted at for getting a D because people are shouting and asking for help.

Still, I got an A in my GCSE mock, so, it is rather funny how I got best marks when noone is getting help.

Anyway, they are still very good, and i am sympathetic to your situation

Wait why did you get a C? Was this an advanced art class or something?

The frog one looks like it is in the australian aboriginal painting style. Those are pretty good.

Art is a subject where they try to give objective marks to subjective material.

I am aware, I am an artist. However there are technical things that you can use to include some objectivity to a work of art. Art isn't completely subjective, although is is certainly heavily subjective.

Indeed, and technically the pieces are not bad at all. You deserved better than a C, OP.

Well a C is relative. It really depends on the class. I think they are good but if it was anadvanced painting class or something I could see those getting a C. Just saying. But for a highschool class? Deserves better than a C for sure.

A funny thing about art grades... I know a woman who failed her 1st year art class because she didn't appreciably improve over the year.

The first year class was taught the bare basics, and well... she went in already an accomplished portrait artist. The system was absurd.

** I like the frog.

Decent. Be prepared for hell if you ever go to a quality art school.

Pfftt, of course that is what is wrong with the system. That is why you hedge your talent a bit in the beginning of art classes. Most artists learn that really quick.

Pretty good I guess? I like solid colors. The Frog painting is the best, imo.

I wonder if there is any other field of study where the student must routinely feign ignorance to the teachers?

She didn't realize it at the time, but she could probably have talked to the Dean and asked him to let her skip to the more advanced class.

The frog I like the best.

Like the mix of colors.

Don't care much for your...I'm guessing your abstract? The one with the peace sign and army camouflage. The contrast is off and doesn't blend well. Does it have something to do with Vietnam?

Then again I'm not sure when they first created the Steyr Aug.

All nicely done. The frog is my favourite one, though. But yeah, like people said, art is heavily subjective. I enjoy drawing and painting myself, but my brother told me not to do it as a Year 11 or 12 subject because it took up a lot of his time, and was pretty subjective.

It was just a high school GCSE course. I painted them at the age of 15. I am from England. It was not advanced art.

Then they deserved better than a C man.

These are my first attempts at painting and I was like 18-19 after I had taken a couple drawing classes already.

For 15 and in a non-advanced art class I think you did really well man.
