High school diploma blues AKA what to do with my life

Post » Fri Feb 22, 2013 2:31 pm

So I got my diploma marks for last semester's courses. I did pretty bad in all of them (failed one). The courses were Math 30-2, Bio 30, and Chem 30 which I failed. So I had a pretty tough semester with a lot of math and a lot of memorization.

What I think I want to do as a career or profession is go for a five year combined Bachelor of Physical Education/Bachelor of Education. I enjoy track and field and just general exercise/working out and I think I'd be very happy teaching phys ed or sports performance and coaching high school track and field. The courses I would probably use to enroll would be Bio 30 (requirement), English 30-1 (another requirement), Social 30-1, Math 30-2, and Drama 30. That would mean I'll need to retake two courses, Bio and Math. I'm not at all worried about what my Social and English marks will be like as I've always done very well in those two courses. I'm one of those people who does terribly with sciences but awesome in everything else. I've never gotten under 85% in Drama, so again, not a huge issue for me. I'm still on track to graduate which is a giant relief for me.

I need advice, though, preferably from someone who has also gone for BPE/B.Ed or even just one or the other. First off, what competitive average should I be expecting in order to get into the course (as in, what was the competitive average when you applied)? What should I be expecting from this course? The section of the university college I'll likely be applying at doesn't give very many specifics, rather just a general overview of the goals of the course. And lastly, possibly most importantly, is it enjoyable for the most part?

I dun goof'd a little bit. I've never actually been so stressed in my life until I saw those marks and now I'm freaking out. So any help is appreciated more than you know. Also, before anyone says this, I have an appointment with my councilor and I'm pretty confident she will be able to help a lot. I just want a few more opinions, hopefully from educated people.
