I never been to prom, but I have been to a few dances, and am wondering is high school prom even worth going too? Now the prom will cost from 80 to about 95 dollars and I can get a date by asking this one girl, but unfortunately I don't think none of my friends are going and the people who are probably going are just acquaintances who find me funny in 6th hour. So is prom worth it or is it just a waste of money and time?

Well, you'll regret not going.If you don't like it just leave.

But it just that it seems so pointless in the grand scheme of my life, and being pushed by my mother(she didn't go and now regrets it) and by this other girl who told the entire class a figurative story about how I ask her out to prom even when I didn't do such a thing.

Look around first and see if there's anything else worth doing for the same amount. Then talk to your lady about the options and see what she thinks.
