Its one of the new features, and it also goes to volkhair castle.

There are other boats to travel on? Other than the one to Volkihar castle?

I have two characters and have played Dawnguard non stop and I never noticed this. Three questions

1.) Does it cost more than a carriage

2.) Does it also go to Dawnstar which is a port town

3.) are the boats like the one at ice water jetty or bigger.

they only one ive noticed so far was one in dawnstar that goes to windhelm and solitude for 50 gold, but i took one to solitude and you can go to windhelm or dawnstar for the same price...so there is 3 to my knowledge that can take you to any of those in addition to volkihar castle. the boats themselves are really small so no they are not bigger...

i really hope they use this boat thing more in the next dlc's... especially if we are to travel to another province... either that or the waygate travel in the game jam video... :tes:

Owning a private boat just to sail to each of the forts or landmarks that dot the coast of skyrims would be cool.

an even better idea would be to use a boat to get to a secret mansion of your own... :ninja:

Thats because the Lake Honrich near riften can only be enterted through a river which goes through lake Geir and then down some severe rapids....too severe for a boat to travel up so you wont see boat fast travel to riften.

Flamingsora, I believe it is downloadable for free from the http://www.elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/.
On modern machines it requires dosbox to play and the last time I downloaded it, it came with install instructions.

You can also just download this. http://theelderscrolls.wiwiland.net/?title=Daggerfall_:_DaggerfallSetup_EN

It autmatically configures DOS or whatever to make it run on current systems. I downloaded that around a year ago and it works perfectly on Windows Vista, no setup from me required. I still have it now, I just don't play it much. BTW there are psychic guards in Daggerfall.

Shouldn't Mortal have access to the sea as well? Or am I just being stupid, and the river is blocked at a certain point or something...

If you go to Solitude, Windhelm, Dawnstar, or Casle Volkihar there will be a dock off to the side with someone hanging their feet over the edge next to a small boat.

I loved the little things from daggerfall such as owning a horse and cart and owning your own boat, would be nice to have this is Skyrim or future tes games

I can't believe I've missed this feature. Seems like everywhere I look I have missed more features put in place by dawnguard...makes me kind of sad that I'm that blind

I noticed this during the Beta and made a topic about it. I hadn't noticed it in the vanilla game and was in question about it being added content. It wasn't until I was playing after the release, that I realized you could actually take one to Castle V.
