Hired Thugs and no one cares

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:43 am

I kind of like the thugs thing, but it does have some serious issues, for instance my brother had taken some fire salts from the house of a guy who had died during a quest, not even one he killed, it counted as stealing and then a little bit later, the hired thugs showed up, with a note saying to teach a lesson to him... signed by the dead guy.

Dear Muggy:
Can't tell if trolling, or just stupid. Your spelling is great.

Wow, thats totally stupid. I am getting chased around Riften by three hired thugs. The guards could care less. They actually RAN AWAY from the thugs. Yep one of them actually said "I'm getting out of here" and ran away like a biatch. I run into the palace, and by clever running and dodging I get one of the thugs to hit the Jarl. SHE RUNS AWAY! No one in the palace cares. WTF????

But let ME assault someone or even accidently pick up a worthless ink pot and it's world war 3 on me. Stupid, just stupid.

I know I am raging but this charachter is a Dead is Dead charachter, and I am only level 9 and not even able to dent the life of one of these thugs. How totally backwards and stupid this whole situation is.

Those guys came after me at lvl 5 when all I had was some daggers and a bow. The only way I could defeat them was to put on my heaviest armor, get a two handed sword, and get my back in a corner so they couldn't surround me.

Oh yeah, and turned down the difficulty level to Toddler.

I usually just cast a frenzy spell on all three thugs and carry on by, let the guards deal with them I say. I know it's not really the point but that's how I choose to deal with it. If the guards won't attack the thugs I'll force them into attacking.

Yeah, I've had a few encounters where I was under attack, and every guard just ran away. What's worse, this happened a few times on a character that does not attack. I found out, ironically enough, that bandits will attack hired thugs, and other unwanted people, just fine.

This is called karma. Karma is not very nice to people you see, she tends to bite back to achieve balance.

You should meet Karma's cousion, Capitalism.

But on topic, this makes sense. You got in trouble, and now your paying for it. You either killed one or stole from another, and will pay for it. Why should the guards give a hoot if you brought this upon your self?

It is called cause and effect.

That.
