Hired thugs

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:58 pm

Well I needed some gold to buy the house in white run, so I pick pocketed a bit on my assassin/thief. Now a white run guard has put a contract out on me. 3 hired thugs tried to get the jump on me. Now the guards know nothing of this, and don't do anything when I'm attackd. Which is fine, I took them out. Just wondering if they are going to keep coming, or if this is it for this wave? I'd like to know which guard so I could take him out. But that won't happen till mods I'm sure

I had a dark brotherhood assassin (not one of the regulars from the hideout) try to kill me. After dispatching her and searching the corpse i found a dark brotherhood contract to kill me...even spelling out my name. To make things more fun, this all happened while i was a member of the dark brotherhood. LOL

Yeah same thing with me, I pick pocketed a letter off a Courier and later on found a Contract on the Hired Thugs signed...wait for it, Courier.

Kinda ticked me off actually, I did not get caught, just more psychic NPC [censored].

Stop stealing. Simple. I do personally enjoy them but I don't provoke them intentionally. They carry some good loot if you manage to slay them all.

I killed a guy, then took something from his house, next thing I know there are thugs after me...

Apparently he could contact them from the afterlife :/

I had two Dark Bro Hood asses try to kill me. They both had the generic note on them. I think is is a random encounter that does not take into account the character's history in the game.

This is a scripted event for some reason. It happens to everyone if you don't live a 100% pure life. I've had it happen to 2 characters now, and it didn't occur to me until after I killed them the second time that maybe I should have let one live and questioned them. It may start a quest or inform the player of something.

Yeah I like it. Just wondering if the same person sends multiple contracts. I don't mind if they are psychic to a point. If I was just in someone's house and they noticed something gone after I left, I think it's fair to assume.

Hope there is a mod to confront the person, or show the guards/jarl and be allowed to kill the person should you choose. Or jail them, or beat them.

They are a nice touch but at low level I found that they were about 10 times harder to kill than the average dragon which seems a little off - level scaling in full force.

Like you I didn't like the fact that they are psychic and if you go and confront the NPC who hired them it's as if nothing has happened.

I went upstairs in Belethors store, and looked around, he ran after me upstairs, I went down, and walked out, sometime later three thugs tried to kill me, and it was Belethor who send them after me.
So, after killing them, I went to Belethor, and killed him, I also killed his friend or whatever that other guy is. :)
Belethors store is now empty. :D

I can't imagine asses are very good at fighting. Didn't know there were any donkeys in the Dark Brotherhood either, come to think of it. :P

But yeah, the inhabitants of Skyrim seem to have plenty of money around to pay for hired thugs... I wonder where they keep it. Hmmm.

I was attacked by the 3 thugs while being chased by 2 random dark elves in eleven armor. 5 guys is a challenge. But made about 1k in gold from armor, and upgraded my light armor from imperial to elven
