Hitting the books-fellglow keep glitch? : V

I'm doing the quest "hitting the books" and I have to find 3 books in fellglow keep. I freed orthorn, then I go to open the door and my game crashes to the desk top. I've closed steam, restated my pc, hell, even did a ccleaner sweep, still crashes. Any ideas? Is there another way into fellglow keep? its a door that loads into a new area so i dont think "tcl" would work. iv also tried telling Othorn to leave and i tried with him following. any ideas ? i cant finish the quest

Mine crashes when I reach the top stair in the staircase to the Ritual Chamber.
Xbox here. So at least there's an issue across all platforms it seems.

I just recently did that quest without issue!

Which door specifically are you trying to use? If it is the one up the stairs opposite where the cell Othorn is in then (as I recall) that door is blocked and cannot be opened from that side. Other than that - sorry I have no other details regarding doors in that quest for you.

Just a note about picking up the books - they can end up on the floor and easy to miss. So if book not on pedestal - check floor!
