I've been wondering this lately and I just went to the Palace of the Kings to talk to Jorleif about decorations for my home and he has NOTHING to sell me.

So, I was right in the fact that I DID buy the Guest Room Decor. But it's not THERE? If I'm correct the "Guest" Room is straight across the hall from your bedroom? If THAT IS the Guest Room than it's confirmed for me... because there's NOTHING in there but darkness........

Anyone else getting this? Or am I alone here?

Don't worry, I thought the same thing. Turns out the room remains empty until you're made Thane, then your leeching Housecarl take the room and it's magically filled with furnishings.

Are you sure about that? I never got a housecarl when I became Thane in Windhelm and got Hjerim house, but I have no black rooms.

The empty room, directly across from the master bedroom is filled with the guest room furnishings after you get well... a guest staying in your home. At least that's how it happened in the three files I've purchased the home with.
