I know this might not be the right place to ask this but....
How powerful is Galadriel??The Hobbit makes her seem more powerful or atleast as powerful as a Maiar like Gandalf...I know she's a Noldo a descendent of Fingwe but still...

Well i remember in the books, and even in the first movie, when Frodo offers her the ring and she turns into that witch. She straight up says she would be a badass evil queen that couldn't be stopped.
Gandalf as well, the reason why he never holds the ring is cus hes afraid deep down inside he will get twisted and turn into a horror of middle earth.

But yeah, how powerful is she? After reading in the books, im inclined to think that shes more powerful then Gandalf and saruman are, even if just because shes got the elf blood(and natural affinity to magic). Anyway, its a good question that i cant really answer, but i can give you my thoughts on it

Probably the most powerful elf in middle earth, but nowhere near as powerful as the maiar. Gandalf, being a maiar, is potentially more powerful than Galadriel, he's been around longer, but with age, has learned to choose his battles wisely. Melian, wife of Thingol was a maiar, and it was her enchantments that kept much of the older parts of middle earth safe before the floods and destruction. Galadriel , as a Noldor, is cursed for her part not heeding orders to let the silmarils go. Cursed for the destruction wrought by the Noldor on the Teleri. She's bound to middle earth.
The most powerful being in middle earth would not be Galadriel, Gandalf, Elrond, Sauron, Saruman, or even Melkor.
It is Tom Bombadil. That song singing, hut dwelling mofo, who when "the ring" is put upon his finger, does not disappear nor fall under the influence. He's got some serious mojo. Twas orignally postulated by Elrond and Gandalf to get Tom Bombadil to destroy it, but Tom could give a damn.

Luthien kicked Sauron's ass back in the first age. Admittedly she was the daughter of a Maia, but still mostly elven. Fingolfin, pure elf, SEVERLY WOUNDED Morgoth, a full Vala. Not to mention the dozens of Balrogs that were slain in the first age by a number of elves, and possibly humans. The elves of Middle earth are badasses.

Not fair, Melkor isn't in Middle Earth.

Yeah, Luthien was Thingol and Melian's daughter. Thingol was a badass mofo dark elf, called dark, because he never went to the the land of the Valar. Luthien married Beren, and their daughter was the mother of Elrond and Elros.

Melkor, IIRC, took the Silmarills to middle earth, after getting Ungoliant eat the light of the two trees in the land of the Valar, and was known as Morgoth, IIRC.

Gotta agree, though, some badass elves walked through MIddle Earth.

I do love that part of the book. "No no, we can't give it to Tom, he probably wouldn't care and would lose it somewhere."
