Hole in roof!

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:59 am

Hi everyone, I have posted this in the support section but I've yet to have any replies plus I was unable to post an image thus I thought I'd try my luck here.

I have a bug/glitch which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else, with Lakeview Manors Kitchen and Greenhouse ( east and west wings respectively ) that while inside Lakeview Manor where the upper most part of either wings roof should meet with the Main Halls roof there's a large gap where you can see the sky.

I think I know why it's happening, the outside mesh/texture for the Main Halls roof isn't being rendered while indoors.

I've tried deleting then redownloading Hearthfire as well as clearing my Xbox 360s cache in the vain hope that it would fix the issue but needless to say it didn't.

I'd love to know if anyone else has encountered this issue? Thanks.

Tom

P.S. Still can't post images or even link to them so if you just click on my profile I've put the link to the image under my contact information.

I have the kitchen and greenhouse at Lakeview Manor along with the alchemist tower no holes in the roof. Was it a permanent problem or did it fix itself on reloading or restarting the console? You might have better luck going back to building the house again. I did the small house, main hall and cellar, changed the small house to an entryway then completely furnished the cellar, then added each of the wings. There are strange problems with this house in particular that are possibly avoided by building each section without leaving the workbench, and then furnishing each section in one block without leaving the area for the workbench to reset. Take it slow in case it loses something.

If you say what the north wing was D3SOL4TE, I could build it and see if I can repeat the problem.

did you build the house right? start at the foundation and work your way up to build the roof last? i wouldnt be surprised if this glitch or others like it are the outcome of building out of order, especially sine the home guide warns against it as if beth is telling us beware of building wrong ;)

You need all three wings to have the second floor, else you will have that gap.

I eventually noticed the missing mesh although at a different location. The combination of wings was bedroom, storage and kitchen. I did have this glitch earlier, just never noticed it since I usually furnish the rooms pretty quick. You cannot see it in the kitchen once it is furnished, at least not in my case. You have to be standing right next to the outside wall to see the gap in the roof, once the kitchen is furnished it is not really practical get that close to the wall, it is still there but you are not going to notice it. I doubt you would notice it in the greenhouse either but I do not have one in the current game to check.
