Clearly I'm an idiot but I can't figure out how to holster a ranged weapon on the PC. I checked the manual and the key mappings in the options but perhaps I missed it. Can anyone clue me on it? Currently I have to go to the pip-boy, un-select the ranged weapons, which empties my hands but raises my fists. After that I can press R and this seems to lower my fists but it doesn't work with a weapon equipped.

the 'R' doubles as reload and holster, just hold the key down to holster.

Just hold down your reload key for a second.

When you press R it lowers fists instantly, but for weapons you need to hold R a bit longer (because just pressing R quickly is used for reloading your weapon) and then it'll holster.

also... hold down the Pip-Boy key to make it glow... you probably already knew that though...

Since you missed that, you probably missed these:

Hold the PIPBoy key for a flashlight toggle
Hold the VATS key for a zoomed-out VATS selection. While continuing to hold, targets glow, and it centers on the selected target. Press left/right to change target. On letting go, it will zoom into VATs targeting mode on that target.

Quick question- bit different but related to the pc. How do you set certain qweapons to keys like on the 360 you press down on the Dpad. Can u do this on pc as its really annoying having to bring up the pip boy each time i want to get out a close range weapon.
Any one know?

Go to the weapons sub-section in the PipBoy and hold 1, 3-8 and click on a weapon to add it. #2 is reserved for ammo switching. Stupid key to use. Remapping it seems to do nothing

Thxs - had tried 2 and thought that coudn't be it. Finally can stop bringing up pip-boy really wish we can do remapping- will probably have to wait for a mod though
