Holy knight build

Post » Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:16 am

I STILL haven't played through Dawnguard yet, despite owning it from day one release because I keep starting new characters. I don't know what it is about Skyrim that makes me do this. In Morrowind and Oblivion I only had two characters in each game. I have created over twenty now, and there is so much I have not done.

Anyway, I think it would be cool to make a sort of holy knight build, and I would like some suggestions. I like heavy armor, and I am not sure if I want to use 2H or 1H weapons. I like the idea of being able to use some spells too, but it always seems like if I sink points into magicka on a warrior character, I end up needing more health or stamina.

Anyway, thoughts?

Go 1 handed mace. Then you can use the sun spells in the other hand, and get Auriel's Shield later.

Sun spells? I remember picking one up in the beginning of DG, but never thought much of it. How much magicka would I need to be effective? How good are the spells? I was considering perking one hand, dual wield, and two hand, and be a weapons master, so that I basically never have to make another warrior again.

I made a 'Holy Knight' type character which was probably my most enjoyable character.

He was an Imperial who wore heavy armor, used restoration magic, and also used 1h sword and shield. He wore Dwemer armor because it's all golden and stuff, and towards the end of his career I used the Daedric Artifact 'Spellbreaker', a shield, in conjunction with the Daedric Artifact 'Dawnbreaker' which is a sword that does fire damage, with extra damage to undead. I pretty much just went from city to city in Skyrim, searching for evil things to kill and people to help.

Did a good guy sword and board for Knights of the Nine DLC for Oblivion, and had a blast with that character. Seems like it could be a lot of fun in Skyrim too.
