a home in Zion

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:12 pm

This might be just me, but I've gotten bored with the player homes in the Mojave. Sure, the safehouses are nice, but I've gravitated towards a small cave-like home for a while. Broc Flower Cave was nice but didn't cut it.

So in Zion, I'm living out of Stone Bones, which has gone mighty well. What are your favorite places in HH?

I used Burned Man's Angel cave as a house. The workbench/reloading bench boxes make good storage, it's got beds, the benches, a campfire, and the cool table full of 1911s. Also the Dead Horse guys are pretty cool to watch while they do their thing.

I also choose the, Abandoned BoS Bunker. Fast, Simple.

I dont have to jump through hoops to drop things off or pick things up.

I use one of the survivalist caves in Zion, as I absolutely adore the place. As Waking Cloud said, it's peaceful there, and thats something my Courier can really use. Really, after everything in Vegas is done, she'd like nothing more than to hang up her armor, set down her rifle, and take Cloud up on her offer to stay in Zion for good.

Sort of this, my one character who is survival/melee/unarmed focused would enjoy it, and Waking cloud said about finding peace there I think my character could do that. Besides that character sort of looks up to Joshua, and I can imagine Joshua staying in Zion.

I wish there was a new perk in HH we saw "home on the range" step in the right direction, we can sleep at campfires, but for me I would like the option of setting up a camp. Dont know if it would be possible but your camp could even be a location on your map you can FT too.

I just wish I could set up place in zion, looks great, but I dont want a cave, but I need something practial.

I use the Aerie. All it has is a gun footlocker, a first aid kit and a bed, but it has a commanding view of Zion (you can climb the two big pillars on either end of the hill), and no creatures to attack you when you fast travel in. I mined the path up the hill, and half of the summit, just in case I walk in and something follows me, or some Cazador spawns on me. I think I'm going to lure some Yao Guai up there, just to watch them fly. Great spot for my sniper/survivalist character.

They Park Ranger outpost on top of the hill with the radio tower? If so that is a nice setup and a good plan with the mined
out hill... :goodjob:

I've been using the Aerie steadily for the past week, and so far, nothings disappeared. I don't know exactly how much time has passed, but well over three days at least.

The perfect house for me has the following...

-Nuka Cola Machine

-Some sort of radio machine

-must be lit up

-must have lots of storage rooms

-must have a bed (i did live in the vault where you save your dad in Fallout 3 and it had no bed)

I hang out and store my stuff at the little camp ground just down the hill from the Zion Valley Welcome Booth, very near to Eastern Virgin. There is a campfire, bed, (safe) sack (for ingredients)....and two safe sacks just across the river, one partially in the water in a tipped little boat, and another near a picnic bench.....works for me.
