Honestly the game wont last long :(

Post » Sat Sep 21, 2013 12:20 pm

Here is my opinion what i think will be wrong with the game and what i feel will be great.

+++ Graphics and enviroment

+++ crafting and tradeskills

++ quests you will come randomly by not just static questgivers (the world will feel more alive)

+++ an interactive world just like in previous ES game. Honestly if ZOS will pull this out correctly it will be something not yet seen in mmos. By this i mean manipulating/ picking some items.

However now lets talk about the part where i feel like ESO will fail.

- - - PVP: Honestly no real world pvp. PVP only in cyrodill and only some big fights. Honestly imo this will be laggy zergfest. Yeah you can become emperor but thats probably the only reason why even pvp. No real point to pvp. No rated arenas or some skill measurement.

- Skills: Diablo 3 type of skillset. You can only choose 6 skills simultaneously which honestly isnt enough for mmo. Yeah there will be many skills to choose from but sooner or later you will want to play the best spec and be bored really soon.

- raids and dungeons: Well this is the part that will determine the success of ESO. We dont know much about this yet but we atleast had one video from dungeon. One big + will be that the graphics are nice so there is potential to create epicly looking raids/ dungs . However With only 6 skills available at time I feel like the dungs will simply be too easy and bosses and fight uncreative and unfunny.

+- Megaserver: I dont think this is a good idea but maybe I am wrong. This is a big questiomark for me.

So to sum it up i think the game will be amazing for about 2 months but once people realize there isnt much to do endgame the population will slowly decline. Overall i think the biggest problem will be diablo 3 style combat with only 6 skills where the skillcap will be very low.

So please ZOS remove only 6 skills max a time do epic (hard) end game raids/dung and the game will be amazing ! Otherwise it will fail very fast.

there's lots more to pvp than you think. and the pvp itself will be fun.

and there will be 10 skills to use, 5 for each 2 weapon set. 10 total. i'll let others tell you more.

What makes you say there is no endgame?

Why do you not know the basic rules of grammar?

And why are five skills "not enough for mmo?"

Well ok then if theres 12 skills this seems about right. But i still stand by my point that pvp and raids may be the (very) weak part of the game.

Jesus christ, have some faith. How the [censored] can you beleive it will fail when you don't even have all the infos about the game. You diserves an award for the most pessimistic guy on the web sir.

All your ''negative points'' are not even close to be negative ;

Cyrodill : you sir never played DAoC for sure, and the day you'll put a foot in cyrodill, you will think yourself as the biggiest idiot of the universe to have said something like that.

Skills : Not every infos has been release yet, so wait and see

Raids and dongeons : how the [censored] can it be negative ? you don't even know what it'll be like, you told it yourself

Megaserver : Same again, you never saw one, so shut your pretty mouth, wait and see

Just have some faith people, i think the conceptors know what the [censored] they're doing, yes they create video games for a living, but don't forget they're also gamers, they know what we like from video games and what we don't. They never disapointed us (or at least me) from an ES game, and i'm pretty sure they don't plan to do it for ESO.

There is more to PVP, including getting abilities from a PVP skill line and a leaderboard of sorts (i think anyway) DCUO has 6 skills and works just fine, actually it works great and combat is fun. DDO uses very few actual skills, most of the quickbar slots are taken up by items, for different situations or that have activatable buffs. Many games, including DCUO and STO (off the top of my head anyway) have Megaservers and are better for it as it allows you to never get on a different server than a friend or be on a small server with no groups. 6 skills is fine and allows for good customization. BTW it is 6 in all, just you can switch weapons which also changes what 5 or 6 skill you have on the hotbar.

This game will have to be beyond amazing though to keep the sub though, no doubt about that.

If we don't know anything about end game or raids/dungeons how can anyone say it isn't going to work... you just don't know yet, as well as the rest of us. Mega server tech works just fine, Anarchy Online has been doing it for years...I'm surprised actually, no one else has done it since... As for PVP, we don't really know all that much about it either, other than what the dev's have chosen to tell us will happen in Cyrodill. Keep your panties on... Wait for open beta or release before you start saying a game will fail.

First of all the Cyrodiil PVP system is what is bringing a lot of people to this game from other MMOS. The Cyrodiil setup is following the same system as an older MMo called Darkage of Camelot. It is 13 years old now and still considered the best PVP MMO to date. A lot of people have been waiting for another MMO to do what it did. ESo is finally that game.

Cyrodiil is a massive zone, about the same size as each alliances home zone. Since Cyrodiil offeres everything it could be considered its own Open world PVP server. think of Cyrodiil as a giant pizza split into 3 giant slices that each alliance owns as their home territory within Cyrodiil. Each side has its owns keeps, and towns. Now ofcoarse there will be the huge zergs seiging keeps but there will also be competitive roaming groups looking for group fights, there will be the stealth game and ambushers waiting at key location like bridges. There will be all the PVE you want, quests, farming creatures, gathering crafting resources, exploring and even a ton of dungeons. You can go to the enemy alliances lands and cause havoc in their dungeons. ofcaorse the main goal will be to take the enemy alliance's Elder Scroll Relics and hold them in your keeps for the bonuses to your alliance. for PVP and PVE. You can also take the Imperial keeps in the center of the map to be crowned Emperor. the campaign match will reset after about a month but the map will not reste. What you control stand until enemys take action to change that. the keep your guild owns is your guilds home, so protect it and upgrade it. there is also an alliance rank progression system to let you keep improving your character long after max level.

The PVP in this game will be a highlight, maybe even the best out of any MMO. It gives you a sense to protect what is yours, to protect your lands. Not some pointless Arena match that accomplishes nothing and has no matter after its done. This is the main reason why I and many other are interetested in ESO

Soooo wrong. Even devs were saing dungeons are really hard, they said they had to join lower level dung in Quakecon livestream just not to wipe in front of thousand of people ( even you saw healer died ). Dungeons are hard.

In skyrim you only spam firebolt as mage over and over and over, that is not boring?????

Well i guess everyone likes different type of PVP but the fact u cant fight the opposite alliance members in the world is simply stupid.

Combat.. The system plays just like Skyrim, Your mouse is your main for of attack NOT your hotbar. Right click attack, Hold for a power attack, Right click is active blocking. Your hotbar is more of bonus abilities, you pick 5 abilities from a huge list, they actually level up as you use them, at a certain level you morph them and choose an extra ability for them. the 6th ability is your Ultimate that you charge up as you fight. It is a very powerful ability when you get to use it. you will also get a weapon swap so you now have acces to 10 abilities and 2 ultimates. when you combine all these abilities with your mouse abilities, and being able to sneak and do sneak attacks it is much more than enough, and this system will take a lot more skill than other games where you rotate cooldown abilities. This game has no cooldowns, all abilities share a resource bar. so its about using the right ability at the right time.

Not everyone likes World PVP. The setup they are using allows for both sides to be happy.

Dont understand why you mention skyrim here. Yes skyrim had very boring and simple combat. Dungeons can be hard in different ways. You can make boss that hits like a truck to make it "hard" and overtuned in a wrong way but he doesnt have many abilities thus the fight will be boring. I fear the fights will be simple boring and uncreative. That is mainly what i fear.

Let me summarize: If you can't gank n00bs while they're still trying to setup their keyboard mapping then EOS will be a failure.

They do get open world PVP, In Cyrodil. A place, BTW, where everyone is going eventually anyway because that is where much of the endgame PVE stuff apparently is anyway. Not everyone is going to get exactly what they want, just look at the people who want Living needs like eating and drinking in the game, they are not getting it, neither are the people who want to sit in every chair.

I agree with you about the pvp.

I prefer open world pvp and open world exploration and the alliances are a really bad idea. you should be warned about the people posting here on the forums are mostly from one group that joined solely on their beliefs on these subjects and Camp this forum and several others simply to disagree with posters like you and me.

Well my friend, rest in peace, the main reason why skyrim fight svcked was because you had 1 or 2 weapons + one abilitie at the time, then you had to pause, go menu, and switch, which was very bad for a action RPG. But in ESO you'll have 1 or 2 weapons that you can switch for an another 1 or 2 weapons, and 12abilites and no pause. And this will create a dynamic entertaining combat system. Also the AI will be way much more better than skyrim, and will have more than 2 moves (more than just attack or block for bandit and firebreath or bite for dragons..)

MMO's ALWAYS have things people do not like, what makes a game good is when it has stuff that everyone likes. Most MMO players do not like world PVP all the time, i am sorry if you want world PVP but it was changed to the system we have now because the populace said NO to it.
