I hope its not Cartoony!

If its anything like WOW or Star Wars the Old Republic , im not buying it. The realistic art style suits the Elder scrolls and by realistic i mean realistic character shapes and building designs and landscape. Not Cartoony artstyles.

Don't expect it to look as nice as Skyrim.

So you're going to judge this game exclusively on its appearance? That's smart, more people should do that.

Actually, game reviewers should just stop writing articles they should just print a lot of pretty pictures and then give the graphics a rating on the scale of 1 - photoraelistic

I hope for a good art style, graphics don't matter as much if the art style is good. That's the reason WoW has pretty nice visuals in some places even with the dating engine.

Graphics do matter to some degree, I agree that they shouldn't be central. Although, I agree with him in a way, I don't think a 'cartoony' look would suit the world of TES.

Skyrim dosen't look good its really bland. Morrowind looked the best in terms of creativity colours and artstyle which while whacky was brillaint and still realistic in style not cartoony. But if your also refering to the graphics yes i know haha of course it won't be as good its an MMO.

Yes cartoony Games don't sit well with me. I couldn't stand the cartoonish art style of Dragon age 2 However i loved the arstyle of Origins. Same would go for Tes. I'm not judging this game on its graphics but artsyle and style.

A lot of people play Elder Scrolls games to get deep into the world and roleplay. Atmosphere matters. Not high resolution textures, or high poly models, but art direction and atmosphere.

Agreed, art style is important, and the TES style is definitely leaning toward realism. Morrowind and Skyrim had perfect art styles. If they go the cartoon route, they've missed the plot.

Come back tomorrow morning for a brief teaser trailer from Zenimax Online and Bethesda Softworks, and later on in the afternoon for the first screenshot of the game.

I don't mind you having that opinion i was just wondering if you like Morrowind's style better simply because it was Morrowind.

Graphics do matter to a lot of people, and in my view ESO does somewhat compete with Skyrim.

World of Warcraft has the same art direction as Warcraft 3, and because it's a first person game the level of detail is quite higher. Although the genre is different, if you make a MMO based on the IP of a single player series, people will see it as a sort of sequel. Games are judged by their cover all the time. If it looks notably worse than Skyrim, ESO's reputation will suffer.

It'll probably still look very very nice. If they choose the right engine and design it properly they can up the graphics quite a bit.

graphics =/= artstyle.

I think its fine to judge artstyle. ToR's art-style (imo) is horrible and doesn't fir the setting.
