Pointless story. Alien abduction hurr-durr.
Not even a shred of creativity. Nothing that hasn't been thought of in the last 20 years.
Doesn't fit with the game's setting and lore at all.
Extremely buggy design. Multiple game breaking bugs.
"Hate" would be an understatement.
I guess for me and not understanding it is...
I didn't like any of Fallout 3's DLCs. None of them were amazing and none of them had a really good storyline. However, I at least found Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta fun to play through. I wasn't fond of the scavanging style of the Pitt, just could never really get into Point Lookout for some reason and Broken Steel was just there for the post-end gameplay. NONE were award-winning stories or incredibly creative.
But ok. What were some of the canon issues though? I know people say "aliens were an easter egg," but I'm asking for specifics. Styles mentioned one I can see the hate for (hinting aliens started the Great War when the ENTIRE purpose of the Fallout series is that war never changes because of HUMAN nature, that's just bad writing), but are there anymore? I just don't get the big deal if Zeta makes aliens canon. There's aliens now. So what?
