I just downloaded the Skyrim 1.6 patch as well as the new Dawnguard DLC but I'm having some issues.

I've heard about he "stand up" but with horse combat, but my problem is different:

When I click to attack, my horse makes a complete stop (if I'm moving), makes a whinnying noise and rears up on it's back legs and my guy swings his sword and I basically do damage to myself. It works nothing like the videos where you can run and attack, any time I click to attack my horse rears up on its back legs, I stop moving, and my guy swings his sword and I take damage.

I have no idea what might have caused the problems and any help would be great.
