My horse killed a dragon

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 8:01 pm

To add to the unique moments so far in this great game...

Somewhere south of winterhold dragon number three made its appearance. I got of the horse I was riding at the time and started to engage it. Somehow my horse got into the following mess and started to attack the dragon too. At least when it was on the ground.

At the time I had Lydia with me too and she was firing of arrows. But somehow the horse was the dragons main attention and started to attack it. I changed my tactic and started to keep the horse alive with heal spells. And that what sufficient for the dragon to perish...

Well not quite. I had Lydia and a flame atronach busy too dealing out DPS. So it shows again. The more the merrier...
And then I was playing as a level 7 mage.

What is your experience with multi member parties? Doesn't that make the game too easy? Seems a similar experience to the Fallout series.
I'm playing on expert level.

Imo it makes it harder if you are against multiple foes that are stronger than your companions (and probably yourself too), since than the chance to get your companions killed is quiet high. Could be annoying if you are in a dungeon with no were to retreat.

same thing happens to me, I always just let them distract the dragon while I two shot it.

Horse = best tank in the game.

The benefit that companions add is negated by the tediousness of traveling with them. What good times you have fighting along side them, they are quickly destroyed by the times you are trying to get them to follow you over a small rock.

Oh and about retreating, can you even tell your companions to: "Retreat!! Follow me!!!!" Lydia is constantly running from room to room just pissing everyone off. I want to run outa there and shes charging headlong into battle.

Ha yeah, a random horse (not mine) kicked a dragon right in the face before I fired the final arrow, stealing the kill. Annoyed and amused at the same time.

I laughed out loud when my horse solo'd three well geared bounty hunters, and then later on got wasted by a wolf. I almost shed a tear at that point.

For real. I dismounted my horse and walked a bit towards a ruin. Got attacked by some bandits. All of sudden my horse just comes plowing through out of nowhere, climbing the stairs to the top to attack someone. Must have been a stray arrow or something that pissed him off.
