it is talking about the problem i have but it doesn't give a solution for it, all that would be needed is a way to get the game to treat 1 handed weapons the same as magic, then hit the key once you equip one weapon and twice for two, but magic equips the left hand first so that wouldn't be good, so maybe if you could somehow make a way to designate a certain weapon as a left hand weapon and then get the game to see it as a magic spell then it would work, these are things bethesda said they would put in the game, they told pc gamer magazine that holding shift while assigning a hotkey would make it a left hand item and pc gamer printed this in their magazine and then bethesda never actually implemented it, also bethesda promised in a q&a session that shields would be useable in either right or left hands and again that is not the case, all it would take to fix it is to make hotkeys for each hand, you have to figure making a shield useable in the right hand would be childs play as well, you would just have to basically make it a mirror image of the left hand so that the game would only show the graphic of the shield in the right hand and it could cheat and not actually change anything gameplay wise since locking with the shield would block the same area in front of you regardless if it was left or right side.
I have no idea why they left these things out, they were just being lazy i think, and it would be so easy to do, also i'm pretty sure they probably didn't even do any qa on the keyboard and mouse setup it had so many problems, like multiple functions for some keys, but not listing these functions under controls or making them rebindable, caused a lot of confusion for people.
