I bought the house in Whiterun so that I could safely store all the stuff I was accumulating. I haven't added any furnishings yet, just used the chest by the bed (mine, not my follower's). Now the dragon bones and scales I left in there are red. Is this a glitch or did I do something wrong? I thought the point of a house was to have safe storage where this didn't happen. Do I have to worry about the chest resetting and removing all my stuff?

A similar thing happened to me when all the pine trees outside of Whiterun turned blue. I just saved, quit the game, and reloaded and everything went back to being fine.

Oops, what I meant was their names turned red like I'd have to steal them to get them out of the chest. on the other hand, I've actually taken them out and nothing happened to my crime statistics.
