How about Hired Heroes in addition to thugs?

Post » Thu Sep 06, 2012 11:37 am

So if you kill someone or rob someone, they might send three hired thugs at you. They are almost always three nords in steel armor or steel plate armor.

Lets say you decide to play a truly vile character, and rack up a ton of kills in the game, especially in a particular hold. The steward should then send three heroes who are not guards to come and try to apprehend you (taking you to jail in the hold from which the heroes were hired) or if you resist, try to kill you.

Unlike a hired thug or bounty collector, it would be a group of three that are not all heavy fighters; the group could include spellcasters, as well as people from different races. I think it would make you feel more like a real villain, not only can you not just stroll into cities, as you don't always need to considering there are plenty of areas to make psuedo lairs out of that are "safe", now small bands of questing heroes are looking to take out the evil warlord, or dasardly necromancer. In this scenario, you are that evil and dastardly person.

Also with Hearthfire they should eventually make it so you can take over a couple of ancient keeps like Valthiem Towers after clearing them, and spruce it up, and have bandit hirelings and things like that.

I like the idea. One thing I noticed is that these bounty collectors, hired thugs never really have a chance on bringing you down...

Imagine being a very wanted man, waking up from your night's rest where you thought you were hidden to a legion of soldier's, siege engines, mounted cavalry and mages, with a Tullius-like guy decreeing that you're to be imprisoned for execution.

This is if your bounty is over 20000 gold or something.

and would be awesome if you could surrender and be taken to jail, and if you didn't break of the prison, after sleeping in the bed you would be taken to a public execution, they would chop your head off and game over :bunny: (load previous save xP)

There is a lone bounty hunter that will track you down (simply called Bounty Hunter) in the wild every now and then if you are wanted.

That's kinda what you're looking for, if extremely limited.

Clearly didn't read the OP.

Guilty. At least not all the way through.

Either way, I think there should be a limit to things like this. Fallout 3 has something along these lines for both good and bad characters, and after a while it gets confusing. I'd think after a while you'd realize it's best not messing with the guy who's killed 500 other guys before you and your pals decided to take him on.

If there came a point when either group learned they'd be better off not crossing your path, I'd be very happy.

I think it would also be fun if the Jarl's Housecarl organized posses composed of guards and citizens to track you down and try to apprehend you. While we're at it, a Bounty-hunter Guild would be sweet.

yeah I was hoping for my actions to mean something more to besides "You weld Azura's Star" and "is that fur coming out of your ear?"

I sided with the empire and killed Ulfric. I should have any remaining Stormcloaks in Skyrim hunting me down and killing me. I sided with the Dawnguard and ruined the vampire way of life in Skyrim. No hunting parties? Even the Thalmor stopped sending hunting parties after me.

I went on a horker killing spree for some reason and was promptly attacked by Horker Bandits (wtf?)

I would also greatly enjoy taking over a fort after clearing it. Would seem fitting.
