How to add a working scabbardsheathe to a sword

I know this is not exactly a CK question, and if the moderators feel like it they may move this to a more appropriate section.
Anyway, my problem concerns adding a working scabbard to a custom weapon. I have the sword and the scabbard both done and ready. The big problem arises when I unsheathe weapon - the scabbard stays on blade. And that of course looks incredibly stupid.

The biggest question for me is (and I hope there are enough 3D masters lurking around to read this) how do I rig the scabbard to the hip/back? I'm using 3dsmax and nifskope, but even tips concerning blender would be useful. I've been looking for somekind of reference to the character skeleton in the nif structure, but I haven't found any clue how to link the nodes to the character's skeleton.

After you export and get the sword and scabbard into Nifskope and into the correct position, just name the scabbard's node Scb, and that's it, working scabbard.
