The Japanese soldiers in WW II are the most well known example of people fighting a war long after it was over, just like in the game. That's because of the isolation of the Pacific. My comment had nothing with "conflating" Japanese and Chinese. That didn't even remotely occur to me and I'm surprised that occurred to others, that just seems weird. It was just the best known anolog and is no way offensive.

I never met them but have heard about them. I think its kind of stupid that they would still be there, neither killed nor integrated with others.

N.B. I don't generally criticise the realism of FO3. It's a massive and brilliant work of fantasy and all the better for it. I don't need logical explanations for everything. However, it is mostly within nearly believable limits and the odd thing like this breaks the spell.

Apart from anything else there are other examples of the Chinese-in-the-game that were inspired by the WWII Japanese.

I believe that they were actually modelled after the actual 50's Chinese soldiers that the Americans fought in the Korean War.
