How better is Skyrim on the XBOX compared to the PS3

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:15 pm

Hi all,
I own the PS3 version of the game and I would like some unbiased mature opinions from people who happen to own or have played extensively both console versions.

Please don't turn this into a console war for 12 year old children.

I was considering getting an xbox if the difference was huge but on the other hand I have already spend 100 hours on the PS3 version and don't think that I can find the courage to start all over again. Furthermore there are rumours that the next gen xbox is going to appear soon and I wouldn't want to get stuck with this one.

So, is the difference that great?

I don't think so. My freind and I have compared glitches and other than the extreme lag on PS3, the Xbox has the same quest glitches. We gave up long ago comparing graphics. Some companies do better in that arena than others on the two consoles. We do not see the difference others do in Skyrim (graphically). As far as new platforms... could be soon... might be long... might not have backwards compatability... who knows.... I'll wait til I factor the future possibilities into todays chances for fun.

Personally, I prefer the 360 controls to the PS3 ones, the 360 has fewer game-breaking glitches, and if memory serves, 360 gets the DLC a month or two before everyone else.

Beware, OP. VS threads are not allowed and these threads always turn into exactly that, no matter the initial meaning, sadly.

Now, onto the topic.
Well, I have heard that the Xbox got less huge bugs, and the savesize bug is worse on PS3.
And overall better performance on the 360.
But this is simply rumours, I play on PC myself.

We have both ps3 and x-box. I play Skyrim on x-box only though. Now on the otherhand, AC I've played on both, Brotherhood on x-box, Revelations on ps3. Taking into acount that Revelations is a newer game with better graphics.

I'd say in most respect's they seem the same. Maybe a little longer load time on ps3. Both my husband and I like the controller for the x-box better.

I wouldn't buy a new console just to play a single game. Although I DO beleive my hubby bought the ps3 to play God's of War, Also so we would be able to play games at the same time.

I am pretty sure the only major difference between 360 and PS3 version is the PS3's lag. Other than that, the minor glitches and freezing issues are just that- minor, and comparable.

I put 80+ hours when I owned my PS3 version (thinking about picking it back up after 1.4) and I don't find it worth my time or money to buy a 360 just to hurdle over some lag (that is fixable) on my PS3.

For all intents and purposes after the 1.4 patch, they're the same. It basically boils down to which system do you already have, and which controller you prefer.

Acording to some of the post's i've read x-box crashes also, I've never had it crash. I think most people figured out if you keep your save files smaller you have less crashes, lag and freezeing. Down side of that is bug's, harder to go back to earlier saves.

OP: Have you been having major problems on your PS3 version? While some have had major issues, others (including myself) really haven't had any major game-breaking issues, especially after the latest patch. IMO, unless your PS3 game is unplayable, it's not worth getting an XBOX just for a game that you already have.

Pitting one console against another and comparing them serves only to create console wars which we don't allow here.
