How Do I Buy Stuff For My House?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 6:49 am

I feel like such a noob asking this.

In Oblivion, it was pretty easy as you got a quest log when you first entered your house after purchase that told you where you could get furniture, wall hangings, etc.

How do I go about getting any of that in Skyrim? Is it automatically sold at general stores or are there special places or people I need to see?

for whiterun you have to read the note about buying accessories/decorating your house before the steward will have the options to buy them.

Go speak to the Jarl's Steward (the one who sold you the house). They'll sell you furnishings as well.

What note? I didn't see a note.

Is it in my house somewhere?

this was not the case for me, as soon as i bought the house i also bought all the upgrades for it, no note reading necessary. I didn't even see the note until I got to the house and started unloading all my junk into a chest.

ya. if you don't have the gold to buy all the upgrades right when you buy the house, you have to read the note to get it to pop back up.
