How can I download the english version, if I have a not-engl

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:03 am

I have the PAL/Uk game, so in english. But sadly my account is italian. So I can't download the english Dawnguard and if I wait for the italian release, it will be completely in italian.

How can I download the english versione of Dawnguard? Can I change in someway my account's country?

Pal i have a similar problem, i have a colombian account and The English Version Of The Game. To solve that i think you can create a new account with USA or UK as region of your account, and then buy the DLC. It will remain at your console so you can play with your previous account.

hope it help

About changing you account region it's not possible. Check it at Xbox.com/support

Me too. I have the englisch version of Skyrim but can't download it because it's not available in the marketplace. If I try it through xbox.com it says this content is not available in your region. Well done!

There is a way how you can download it using vpn and an english ip adress but that's not legal and could result in a ban.

Hello guys, apparently they have fixed yet (our problem) This Morning i started the game and in the principal menu, Adds On section you press Y button and it takes you to the market place and the option to download the DLC it's available now. I want to try the download but i'm not sure if the DLC will be in Spanish o in English since i have the English version and the colombian account and i don't want the DLC in spanish. Hope someone got the guts and download it.

Same problem here.

Bethesda needs to make available an English version download of the DLC for the FIGS languages countries.

It's either that or a no-go for me.

Another customer here who is really annoyed by the fact, that you cannot download the english version of Dawnguard from french, german or italian Martketplaces.

I live in Austria, but since I'm very much opposed to "dubbing" I always import my games from the UK in order to enjoy them as they were intended - without painful translations. So naturally I'm now rather annoyed with Dawnguard - I downloaded the DLC, only having to find out afterwards, that the Dawnguard bits of the game are now in german, while the rest of the game is in english. I absolutely hate that.

I don't want to resort to creating a second gamer tag to access the UK shop and download the english version of the DLC. There has to be a "legal" way to do this. Would it not be possible for Bethesda to also offer the english DLC or the english audio for download in the different Marketplace? It doesn't seem to be a problem for other games developers and games publishers - I am exclusively playing UK-versions and have never, ever encountered a problem like that.

As it is now the gaming experience is ruined for me with this language mishmash - I hope Bethesda will offer a solution soon.

Oi I'm on PC and hopefully Steam won't have this problem (hopefully), but I'm just posting for the sake of letting my voice be heard; there's actually quite a lot of people who would want the english version.
I'm a German-American who prefers living in Germany but prefers playing games in english since the German actor pool is pretty limited compared to the American actor pool.

It's not outlandish at all that people would want the original voices from America: a country that stresses the art of acting far more than most other countries. A bigger industry typically often means higher quality as it acts as an "arena" where all sorts of different acting techniques can collide and the best ones will emerge, prevail and spread their influence. Skyrim also isn't a game that's heavily censored. For example if I bought an American copy of FO3 (which has forced censorship and dubbing in Germany), I wouldn't be so surprised if the DLCs remained German. However Skyrim is not region-locked due to censorship, to my knowledge, and thus there's no reason to prevent anyone from getting the english copy.

I'm not sure if it's in Bethesda's power to make the english version more available or if that's moreso something Microsoft would have to allow for and take care of, but if it IS an option for Bethesda, I'd think it'd be in their best interest to always offer the english version.

Well said, sir! Couldn't agree more. It's easy to annoy people by not offering the english version and it's just as easy to please them by optionally offering the english version to them. More happy customers = more money.

I, for one, have learned my lesson and will in the future not support companies anymore that stick to such restricting policies.

I happen to have the same problem and i dug into it pretty deep. Bethesda recommended to create a UK account ( i ordered my Skyrim from London, UK version ) but i cannot get the UK DLC Dawnguard though my German game account.

Okay, i did that...it worked BUT

I could not buy any Microsoft Points on it because the billing address you have to enter to buy anything is not located in the UK.

I thought of getting a fake UK adress ( highly illegal ) BUT first of all it is against MS TOS and secondly they can actually for the break of the TOS block your gamer account or even your entire Xbox. ( I talked to Microsoft Support )

So i thought ..okay, i buy MS Points in a shop. I did just that. Fine...I had the points ...entered the code....AGAIN they demanded a billing adress....same problem...German adresses are not accepted, wrong location.

I talked to MS support as well...and they told me EVEN if i put in a fake adress i would not work....they check the IP adress. If the IP adress is not UK or so, but German....they wont let you download the DLC.

So the only solution would be...take your Xbox to London, download it there at a friends adress, with the correct adress and the correct IP adress...

Duuuuuuuuu, I feel cheated. Now they start talking in German with sounds absolutely horrible. Not to mention that the European, non English, DLCs of Dawnguard do not work ........

So there is no way to get the English DLC unless you are actually getting a flight and someone that gives you his internet access in England.

What a mess.

Bethesda could spare us all that trouble by simply putting the english version of Dawnguard on the european marketplaces as an optional download.

Well, just the audio files then. A toned-down version Vs a mix of languages is certainly the lesser of two evils. The german voice acting in my english game is certainly annoying - I guess I'll just delete Dawnguard now and will put the whole affair in my "lesson learned" book. Never again.

I agree completely but as far as i have heard it might depend on a special deal between MS and Bethesda about the size of uploads and/or what is actually on the Skyrim game ( if there are hidden original voice files ) ....we had the discussion here on the forum someplace else....Check "Compensation for Europeans" page 1 the posting of Lexandro quite on the bottom of the first page....He seems to know more about the problem.
