How come the chests do not have categories?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 6:33 pm

You got everything in it's right place with you, weapons, ingredients, food, books. Than you put them inside a chest or alike and everything is mixed up. Not good. Any chance a patch could fix that?

A little annoying, I'd agree. Chests and cupboards did have seperate section views in Oblivion. I'm not sure why they decided to remove this in Skyrim.

It would be nice. At the moment I'm just using a different container for every category of loot.

There's never more than 10 items in chests anyway, dont see the issue here other than being too lazy to look through each item.

Pretty much makes you categorize your items in different chests. If you house even has many storage containers... Breezehome doesnt have much.

I remember in the basemant of Frostcrag Spire I used all the containers to categorize things.

If you on pc there is a mod for it. Must have Skyrim Script Extender tho, works flawlessly I might add, http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1227

Did I mention poor console gamers?

What? We're talking about the chests in the houses you can buy and they have as far as i know unlimited space...

They are talking about chests you have in your home. I know for me, one chest might have 50+ items...but I try to use multiple chests to keep things sorted.

Um? 10 items? Have you even tried collecting things? With artifact/unique item collect you can easily get over 100 items in a chest. Book shelves are also limited. If you have Breezehome there isnt much storage so cram everything into 1 chest....

I use one container per category for that reason. A weapons chest, apparel in a dresser, jewelry and gems in the endtables, alchemy ingredients in the chest near my alchemy lab, arrows in a barrel, smithing components in the chest near the door and so forth. I do wish I could add another bookshelf. Both bookshelves in my Whiterun house are full and Ii have another 30 or so books on the floor. Quite messy and not all respectful of the books.

I just keep things in different chests, i've got a weapon chest, apparel chest, soul gems and other items of expense/interest(scrolls ect), a crafting item chest and an alchemy chest. I never sell anything so some of my chests have over 100 things in them it's fine by me.

So that winterhold house is the only house with one chest? What house has the most chests?

I think if the game can be simpler, it must be simpler. No one would get hurt with categorized containers and we could all spend more time hunting dragons.

You must not loot or gather resources much? Once you own a house and start throwing phat lewtz into your storage chests ... well you know.

Anyways if you on PC this is a non issue, I love Skyrim Modders! haha

A fully decorated Breezehome has at least two chests: one in the bedroom and one above the bookshelf in the alchemy lab. In addition, there is one barrel, two dressers, three or four cabinets, at least two endtables and two bookshelves.

True. It's just that they were categorised exactly as your own personal Inventory in Oblivion. Many folks just don't see why this was changed for Skyrim.
