How to convince friend that Skyrim is awesome : V

I have been arguing with my friend over the awesomeness of TES V. My friend is the typical COD fan boy drooling over MW3 and whenever I bring up Skyrim within our group of friends he starts bashing it. I tried to set him up on New vegas a couple of months back and he was absolutely horrible (even for a new player) I tried to guide him, but he just quit altogether. Now whenever Skyrim comes up he talks about how the games gonna svck and MW3 is gonna be so much better and now i need to win this argument I was hopping you guys might have a good rebuttal.

If he thinks COD is a quality game, then its a lost cause.

It would be better if you had examples of what he is bashing about it. Overall the game looks good plays nice and has the feel and immersion of an awesome adventure rpg.

Don't bother. It's not often that people enjoy preaching on any aspect of their life. In fact it usually ends with the person HATING whatever is being talked about. You can't force it, just let your friend do whatever he pleases and let him watch you play it some time. As for a good rebuttal, that shouldn't be hard with MW3, just ask him how he likes his copy pasted game with it's copy pasted buildings! :rofl:

I've got a buddy like this too and honestly the best rebuttal is no rebuttal. People have different opinions about everything from movies to music and games are no different.

I really REALLY liked Oblivion, though!

Just show him the Official Trailer! If he still says no, leave him. All that matters is YOU playing Skyrim. Go, enjoy your Skyrim!

Tell him that Skyrim works differently to Fallout, that you can't really judge a game till you have played and have him have a go.

Honestly, it's just people having theior own opnion. If he prefers Call of Duty to Skyrim, that's his opnion. Tell him you like it and that's an end to it. If he goes on, tell him to stop being an annoying brat about it.

i would kick him in the balls, but thats just me. skyrim if for people, and im not joking about this, with an attention span. MW3 and similar games are for people who like to play something "fast twitch" while skyrim is more for the "smell the roses" type of gamers , like me.

even if you made the best argument in the world for why skyrim is the best game ever, it still wont be the "fast twitch" type of game that will appeal to him.

Edit: OP, some people just dont like RPGs. My cousin, for some reason, absolutely detests any game where you have to select text in order to play the game. Whatever, not everyone has to like everything(this seems ironic for me to say, because I like a lot of different things).

< Thinks MW3 is a quality game and a very fun shooter that will get played a lot this year, and is a huge TES fan and will likely spend at least 300 hours in Skyrim.
